weird achievement bug

I didn't think I had played this before (other than steam) but when I opened the game all but one achievement was awarded to me. When I went into game map I realised I had owned and played this (I think on big fish) but I don't see how I could get steam achievements when I haven't played steam version yet! I wish I didn't. I will replay this just for the missing achievement but it would have been more fun to have to play it for all of them.

edit - I got grand duid just by replaying last level so I must have played this on hard elsewhere or it's another weird bug!

Probably uses the same default save locations for game and profile saves built in to the game so no matter where you play it immediately gets your play history. I've had this with several games even where I played a game long ago on my PC when I had Vista and forgot about it then bought the game on steam and found that gamesaves and all other details had carried over through being on a hard drive that had been with me throughout a few builds and upgrades of OS. As soon as I started FF7 on steam it recognised my saves from the SqEnix profile for the same reasons. It's a little scary that info can unknown to you carry over through generations of PC and OS. Be careful what you put on your PC and try and do fresh installs of new OS's.
