My favourite Shinobi is hard to choose, they all have amazing character design!

I agree, they're all pretty amazing, but here's my favorite by criteria:

Look

Chojiro > Kuroyuki > Hanzo > Gekkamaru > Goemon
I have a soft spot for long/dark hair... nnnhhhg.

Personality

Chojiro > Hanzo > Kuroyuki > Goemon > Gekkamaru
Kuudere lover here! So Choni and Hanzo win this round.

Voice Actor

Kuroyuki > Chojiro > Goemon > Hanzo > Gekkamaru
As much as I love Toriumi, Kuroyuki's voice acting impressed me the most.

Route Enjoyment

Kuroyuki = Chojiro = Hanzo > Goemon > Gekkamaru
Kuroyuki for best suspense, Chojiro for best drama and Hanzo for best romance.

Overall, Chojiro would be my favorite followed closely by Kuroyuki.

Hmm this is kind of hard since I really like all of them But I have to say in terms of characters (not counting their routes) then It's Choujirou,Hanzo and Gekkamaru. Can't find myself choosing over those 3.

In terms of routes then it's:

Hanzo>Gekkamaru>Choujiro>Kuroyuki>Goemon

No point in mentioning their looks/personality/voice, all of them are wonderfully unique, sound fabulous, and are attractive.

I really enjoyed all of their stories and routes, choujiro and gekkamaru's route were similar in the end, I have just completed Goemon's route too. My first otome game was amazing and I can't help but want more!!

In terms of looks then its: Hanzo - Kuroyuki - Choujiro - Goemon - Gekkamaru

Ennosuke was nice to look at as well!

Sadly Kuroyuki's route ended in tragedy for me. The ending scene made me cry at how he helped her pass on happily.

I have literally just finished Gekkamaru's route and I /will/ die for this boy.

He has stolen my heart. I don't know if I can stomach doing the bad ending.

I don't know if I can give my heart to any of these other boys, but I must ;A;

@ Nakiarni Awww not good ;_; you HAVE to play the good ending now! Kuroyuki was my last route and after all the tragedy in some other routes i was so glad that i didn't have to fight my friends again.
it was also heartbreaking when Kuroyuki screamed 'cause we nearly died of the poison q_q

oh, and i must say i was surprised at the voice of Goemon xD
it was reeeally hard for me not to think of Ayato from Diabolik Lovers >3

@Hanabella I seriously enjoyed Kuroyuki's obsession with Enju in the tragic ending. Also his voice actor was amazing during those scenes. I loved how his voice can change from playfull, to really rough and alluring :3

@Faundest_Wishes Gekkamaru's route had a small plot twist in it, I'm glad I figured out the good ending before the bad ending. I think you'd like the rest of the character routes, I know I do!

I'm also dredding the fact of all the bad endings but I'll get through it for their sacrifices they made for Enju!

Okay I just completed Hanzo's Sad ending and now I am convinced that his routes and story design are currently my favourite, I couldn't just skip through it all, I had to rewatch everything...
He is a real man...

I like Kuroyuki the most. Some might say that his feelings is not love, or unhealthy. But who cares, right? We live for each other, we die for each other, we are happy to be together, that's all there is to it.
Yuki has so many layers of emotions, his jealousy, his obsession, his childish side, his lost innocence. I love every bit of it, I love his flaws. They brought tears and joy to my heart, like a freaking roller coaster of emotion.
And strangely, when he describe his mental situation, minus the badass ninjutsu, the killing, I felt so related. You know those times when you feel so lost, that u couldn't keep track of time, and forgot all those happy memories you had, and you just cry over nothing wishing it to be over?
Each and every dialogue of his is like a knife stabbing into my kokoro. It made me realizes things that I really longed for. The relationship portrayed by him and Enju feels like that of a twin, I love him because he is him, and also because I can see myself in his image.

P/S: LOL Sorry, i didn't think I would made a presentation about why I like Kuroyuki. In short, to me, Nightshade is not just an "otome game", it's something else. Kudos to the developers who captured and broke my heart into pieces.

Altho I hate to admit that the tragic ending is more fitting. (i will never bring myself to play the tragic ending again lol, too many onion ninjas)
Hanzo is my second favorite. But I know If I choose someone else, Kuroyuki will be crying/dying somewhere, over his emptiness. ;________:

I haven't done Goemon yet... I really, really like him, so I'm saving his route for last. But currently my faves in terms of personality are..

Chojiro (he's just so sweet. ;_;) > Kuroyuki (yes, he's a terrible Yandere, but I love him anyway) > Hanzo (he's a little boring tbh, but I still like him) > Gekkumaru (I don't dislike him, he's just not my fave).

I love Goemon in the other routes though. I'm just hoping his route is as awesome as he's been in others. He always makes me smile.

Chojiro has my favorite design. And.. Goemon also has my fave VA. Chojiro second. (then Ieyasu... XD ) Though I also love Kuroyuki's VA even though I normally don't like that voice type.

This game is too good tbh. This is def my fave non-free otome that I've played to date. Everyone's multifaceted, the character development is amazing, the art and voice acting are amazing.. I hope this dev releases more otome on steam in the future.

Doubts? DOUBTS? Hanzo.
Kenjiro Tsuda makes Hanzo's voice extremely sexy and serious, his expressions are EVERYTHING, the goofy smiles, the vulnerable looks, the badass shinobi from behind... AND HIS PERSONALITY AND CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT ("That's the spirit" TwT) He's perfect.
He's the best shinobi in all History. There's no competition.

It's the first time I play an otome that gives me hard time to choose my fav characters or where all routes satisfy me.

Anyway I have no doubts, I choose Goemon-san in the end! His gentle, positive, carefree attitude enchanted me. <3

I like how he tease with his oujo-chan, but respect her. How he respects life and rebel against the strict shinobi life where you MUST follow the orders, even if it comes to kill the one you love. Plus he made me laugh during this game and he was always a breath of fresh air when he appearead during tough times.
I like that he use his mind as a weapon and I think his good ending is brilliant and exciting.
I almost cried when I saw the CG of his bad ending.


Second to him, I would choose Hanzo, as I think he positively influenced Enju to be confident and improve her shinobi skills. And....yeah I love his style, especially when he has his hair down XD

I've only seen Hanzo's good end so far, so my thoughts will likely change. Hanzo's voice and design really does it for me (the wet hair sprite, the occasional shy glances, and blushing expressions HOT DAMN). I also quite like Gekkamaru and Kuroyuki from what I've seen of them. Goemon I wasn't super sold on but after interacting with him a little I'm interested, so I'll probably do his route next. Chojiro is my least favorite of the dudes so far; he's got a pretty nice design but nothing about him really jumped out at me. Would love for that opinion to change when I start doing his route, though.
