Panic button doesn't work during dialog

Someone walked in on me at the scene where Shinobu was in her panties and I pressed the button and nothing happened.

Honestly is the policey, should they say anything, you with pride jump out your chair and explain you are simply engaging a girl in conversation, she is wearing panties and little else due to circumstances they can't understand... or just out right tell them you like girls, she is a girl xD I don't think anyone really reads into these things, its just a laugh it off or be awkward moment.

... does it make me bad to want to hear what happened next, what you said, how said person reacted ect.

They probably should've explained that the Panic Button only works when in-game and not in a cutscene or results screen.
