Are the Side Stories Worth Doing?
I am enjoying the main story of the game and I plan to play through all the routes, though I will admit the game-play is kinda ass. Are the side stories worth doing or should I just skip them? I do not want to spend unnecessary time in the game if its not worth it.

Depends on who you like. It gives a lot of insight into some of the people on Altera's side. Like why is Iskander following her? The man who is known for conquest and his own greed. Why is Jeanne following her? Someone who is so pure and virtuous that she is immune to corruption but is now seemingly helping the force that will destroy the mooncell and the world?

For those characters, the side story explains why they are doing what they are doing.

You are asking if you should keep playing a game you don't like. What is the point of this post?

When you get good at it, and start trying to claim 100% of the map before clearing a mission, the gameplay becomes a lot of fun, but if you are not enjoying it, just stop playing it.

I like the story but not the gameplay. I'm asking if the story quality of the side stories is good enough to warrant playing more

Thank you for actually answering my question, unlike the other people in the thread. I might pass on the side stories if they are just surrounding character motivation, though who knows maybe I'll come back to them in a couple months in I want to play the game again.

So in your opinion the side stories are not worth it?

My opinion is that no game is worth it if you are not having fun, full stop.

Personally, I did them all when I played on another platform, then I repurchased the game on Steam.

Did you even read my original comment. I am genuinely enjoying the main story, I just don't like the gameplay. I don't hate this game bro. I was wondering if the side stories have a good quality story too or are they just filler.
I think they are absolutely worth it. It explains a lot pertaining to the main story and even sets things up for a sequel. (Not Extella Link who is a sidequel)

Although we may never get that sequel. If the remake of Fate extra does well, then we might get a remake of fate extra ccc. And then if that does well we might get a sequel to Fate Extella but that's unlikely at this point.

No problem. I should mention that the side stories do actually have their own ending that is separate to the main story endings of each route. So you will get a different ending for them. But some of them are annoying as they just put the character you played as, against another character and leave who ends up to your imagination as the ending. The characters that happens for from my memory are Cu's side story, and Iskander's side story. And honestly Jeanne's wholesome to play through, I like her ending and is better than some of the route endings. But I also like Jeanne a lot.

I can't imagine a sequel to extella coming out anytime soon tbh. Though maybe I will consider playing through the sidequests after I take a break from the game and come back to it
