Game doesn't work

I can get the start screen but I click start and either get the same screen or a blank screen with a couple star trails. Anybody else having this problem? This is the third game I've bought recently that doesn't work right. I'm really getting tired of wasting my money.

The game doesn't work here. As soon as the little animation ends, I can only see squares!!! I've tried to reinstall the game 3 times already!! Common!!!! :/

Hi I had the same problem, but i found a solution which helped me.

I opend the folder on windows with the gamefiles and activated the following compatibilities for the game .exe.
- start as administrator
- don't scale at high dpi
- win 7 compatibility mode

after changing this options i started the game in steam, he asked me the standard popup about starting as admin and the game worked

Late to the party on this one, so sorry. But yes, what SLMEPHI said is accurate. Because this game was developed so long ago there are some quirky things that pop up now. Please reach out if you are still having problems though.

Tried those steps, it does nothing. It still fails in exactly the same way. Opening animation plays, then blank screen (couple of overlapping colored boxes, I guess) with a couple sparkly bits. If I hit escape, I get a grey box in the middle of the screen, and then I can't get anywhere from there. I have to quit from the task manager.

Trying to get Drawn: TPT running on windows 10 laptop. Splash screens go by, goes to start screen, stuck there. Says one word "Play" at the bottom, no mouse, no respose to game controller. Moving mouse occassionaly makes a fat mouse pop up randomly and disappear quickly. Impossible to click anything. Esc does nothing. Music just continues to play. Must go to task mgr to kill program to exit. Just tried steps above, same results.

The game was playing fine but there's a part now well into the game where you go up some stairs and the screen turns blank, (whereas I'm sure on the last time I played there was a jigsaw puzzle there so the screen has loaded before). I've tried the dpi/Windows 7 changes suggested above but I think my save game is corrupted. Does anyone know how to go back to a previous level save? I don't want to restart the whole game
