Long Gone Days
How to get "Good ending"? *Spoiler warning*
So I am assuming I got the bad ending when I saw that the achievement I got at the end was "Planning to fail". Pretty much what happens is that even if you beat the main villain the accomplices get away with it and nothing really changes. So it left a bad taste in my mouth and I want to get the good ending but I have no idea how to do that. Can someone please tell me how?

I think I am less then haft way through but from what I seen so far and from what the devs said on another post here title Choices I guessing it involve either a important choice later and also whether you have high or low morale since it seem it can change how some cutscenes play out and open some new choices.

So I've tried to make "good guy" choices and I ended up with the bad ending anyway. I got mostly good morale from my choices but there must be specific choices or the morale needs to be so damn high that I just barely missed the required amount. Anyone who knows precisely what choices to make please list it here.
I got the bad ending after getting the best outcome on almost every quest. I think the issue is that I wasn't able to talk down Coyle. I also failed to find the place to use the diamond key.

Looking at the achievements, it might also be possible to talk down Brianna somehow?

Just finished the game and also got "Planning to Fail," what a downer... :franbow: Would love to know if it's possible to get a better end? This game is so good~ I want this lil found family to be happy :mug:
I just completed the game and got the happy ending. I think that like the developer mentioned before you need to make the right decisions and make sure the group's morale is high. Completing all the side-quests is a big step towards achieving the good ending!

Just got through the Germany part and there was one side quest I could not do since I have high morale, so not sure how it possible to do them all while keeping it high.

In my personal expirience (nearly three full runs), good ending heavily depends on a high morale AND persuading Coyle to stand down through a dialogue during a boss battle with him (with a low morale there's simply no option to choose in the dialogue with Coyle). Maybe not helping Weber important too, but I'm not sure.
Why the bad ending:

Hi! its okay no worries
The point is not killing Coyle
Youve probably chosen the first option that when he asks you some question like why you defending them
Choose 2nd option
First option leads you to killing Coyle
and thats eventually leads you to bad ending

Like ive said, in certain hp, coyle asks you that why are you defending them and you should choose 2nd option says 'because they made me saw the world in a new light' or something like that'
after that coyle giving up fighting against you
What about the side quests:

side quests affect moral and moral affects some side quests. like if youre on low morale rourke wont do side quest that requires high morale
i think theres no effect on endings. the key is coyle here

I have already overwritten my saves and have no way to test this theory. I don't have time to replay the game now. 😞
Thank you for the information going to replay with that in mind! :stein:

You can still get the Happy Ending even without completing The Tickets side-quest! The quest would actually trigger only if your company has low morale, so I guess not triggering it can serve as a good indication you're on the right path :)
I've discovered that in the first chapter when you are in Kalingrad at night you are able to stop Rourke from killing Lt Garret at the end. I'm not sure if it is because of morale or that I chose certain dialogue during the fight but I think this is one of the "keys" to knowing you're on the right track to the good ending.

I achieved the Happy Ending even after defeating (killing) LT. Garret, so I'm not sure how crucial it is to keep him alive, but being able to convince him will probably contribute to the overall path towards achieving that goal and add some scenes (I haven't seen) to the end itself :)
I have found that in Kiel, Germany, you can stop Horst Weber from escaping and capture him. In my previous playthrough he escaped. I did not change my dialogue options so it seems to be morale related. But it is strange that morale affects character reaction time??

Hi! Well, the side quest you're probably referring to is The Tickets; this one requires having a low morale, so if you can't trigger it then it is actually a good sign! I can assure you that not finishing this quest does not hinder players from achieving the Good Ending. Mine is a case in point :)
