So those promos huh...

They could have been just a touch less cryptic with the choices in promos. It's like, the choice says "I'm here to help" and the resulting dialog is "I'm going to throw everyone in the audience into a bonfire and then laugh all super evil like as they die and I enjoy their deaths!". Or the choice says "I hate you all" and the dialogue is "I love the WWE Universe and I think my opponent is a swell guy, let's shake hands!"

Note that those are not actual dialog choices in the game, but it feels like the actual ones in game are just as cryptic with the short bit you choose not lining up with the dialogue you get. Anyone got some hints/tips on this? I'm wondering if I'm just bad at it lol

Don't worry, you're not bad at the promo system. It's cryptic to the point of being hilarious. I've been trying to run a tweener character, and half the time when I'm trying to run a face promo half of it ends up being heel, and when I actually try to be a douche to someone I end up fellating their ego.

There really should have been a skill you can buy that lets you see what audience type or personality trait each response is.

I ended up wanting to be heel but i was face, so you got to hit dickish responses. When low enough you can turn heel. After this i turned on my tag partenr. Get 4 star matches and then end it by smashing someones brains out with a chair. Soon filled up the heel meter. Also used VC to near enough max out the promo stat so you get better crowd responses and can work your way up the card faster. Only in my second month and started a fued with finn balor

OP is dead on.. The promo system is the pits.. I don't even try anymore because it's useless. I just scoll through and randomly stop on something and have better luck than trying to read into the cryptic lines..
