It would be nice for the executrons to have a way to control whatever it is that’s used for boarding, though. Sitting and waiting for a gateway probe to dock is a bit dull. Even making the portals something like a camera which is always on would be better.
I like the strike team idea so I think I might do something when I bring out the SpecialOps branch at a later date.
I might've been a bit unclear, meant giving the executrons their own unique buildable troop transport meant for strike teams. Wouldn't cause any large imbalance if another CEO lacks executrons (i think).
Woop! Looking forward to it!
I even have an idea how about making a ship like the gateway probe but it is a little bit bigger and can produce troops and has light weapons
It would be nice to direct control them to maybe fly a bit smarter like one can with starfighters.
Late-game you’ve three of them, of which one might successfully dock. That’s fine until your assault fails and you have to send them all the way back from your base which takes quite a while.
The portal system is better however, far less bugs (hurrah for the mechs not falling out into space!) and it's far more user friendly with how you manage your robots.
I also love the risk/reward mechanic of being able to attack the enemy through any portals they make if, that is fantastic.
I'd still love to see the troop transports make a return. One thing they did better was easily adding defenders to your stations. You could simply build a transport, send it over and dock and then your outpost would have guards.
Now you have to dedicate sending over one of your gateway probes which is quite a pain, doubly so if you only have the one.
I also understand the concerns with the bridge teleporter having to go back into FPS just to move some troops about however I hope to address this in the new UI update.
As for moving about the station faster I need a good think about this.
I think this question has been answered enough times so I will lock it :)
