I wonder what happened to Old Smithy in SoL ?【spoilers】
I was in the last part of SoL.
When I accidently ran into the shop I found there was a small key on sell, and it was the key to Old Smithy‘s house(The one in the SW of the village). When I opened the door I found he died in an unfinished HEX with the message"FAIL"

I've checked the steamcommunity for the key word "smithy" and there was only one result in 2018, so, does anybody have the idea what happened to him and whether there is a combination between his death and the main plot?

Chandrelle may have heard about the Hex, the portal that allows to exit the games, and the need of an artifact to open it (hence the several stones cut in its shape), and therefore have tried escaping in a previous iteration of SoL (and that's why the house is closed during the game, so that no one sees what happened before during the first official playthrough).
Why Chandrelle? Because well, she knows about dark magic and stuff (the spell Blood Pact...), and is likely to have done such a thing. And she knows the Hex probably more than any of the other playable characters (remember the letter on her bed, with "ritual" written, which she says is part of an "agreement" and clearly refers to the opening of the portal at the end - and, even more obviously, the fact that the spell to open the Hex is written in runes, which she uses in CaX to cast hers).

But hey, that's a theory, and I do not know much about The Hex's lore, so I may be misguided.

Thanks a lot,dear potlamb!that sound‘s reasonable
Also I think it’s more thrilling for the game thinking about I‘m not the only one participating in voting for the murder…………I'm still wondering about there maybe still some stories unfound by the players………………:lunar2019piginablanket:

I think there is still the mystery of "His father pure evil", the sentence which was already a secret in Pony Island but back then was more or less explicable, but lost all possible meanings when we saw it in The Hex... Even though it is likely to remain a mystery until the next Daniel Mullins's game, or even a few of them.

sure…………It scared me off when that sentence poped up nonstop. What's more,I tracked left side of the screen searching "who is mumbling such a possibly hint" but in vain

I can't wait to play Daniel Mullins's next works:lunar2019piginablanket:

It seems it comes from the upside down Vallamir: it is at the same vertical level than him, and himself keeps moving his mouth as if he were actually saying something. Though this fact does not seem that interesting... unless we consider Vallamir as a demon, which makes a link between him and Pony Island. But even then there's no real point in considering what this possibility implies...
