Question about Secret ending (message in bottle) **SPOILERS**

I already got the secret ending, of course trying to do as much myself + community stuff (I still like to find all the "Clues" before continuing on if I can't figure it out myself) However, I took one thing for granted
Supposedly the message in the bottle is supposed to "change" when used on Carla's computer. I had taken that for granted because I didn't feel like fishing the bottle up again on my first time, however this time when going to do it with my gf, the message in the bottle didn't change when I dup'd it.

Has anyone else tried this themselves? On the only screenshot I can find the person doesn't have the coin for the boat in their inventory, it is just full of the bottles, however I don't see how you can obtain it without getting the coin, since the dock is over there.

Any help on what I am doing wrong to get the bottle to change txt please let me know. Thank you!

I have the same problem. You can fish at the first desert zone without going to the secret island and so without taking the coin. But I don't know if we can find the bottle at this spot, I have tried but never got it on that spot. Where did you found the screenshot ? I search for it.

I have fished in the first desert zone, but you get a diff bottle clue there about cinnabar island.
As for the screenshot it was on the huge thread when people were searching it (I read the whole thing haha)

Aside from that image tho, which is what EVERYONE went off of, I have yet to see anyone else replicate it, and people just ran with that code.

Note he has Laz in his party as well, so I am curious how he fished this up. Unless...there is a drop coin button I am missing somewhere haha. Maybe the robot takes it somehow? I've kept trying diff things but just CANNOT replicate this message. It is driving me NUTS

Were you ever able to? Its driving me nuts currently. How the hell does it work? I even suspected that it somehow depended on the existence of cipher.cipher (like the hint for DVL in contract in Walk), but nope, the message still doesn't get corrupted. What am I doing wrong?..
