I've seen this type of game several times about a decade ago, there were 2 Mini games for the PSP that could also work on the PS3 and probably Vita. I'm blanking on any names though, they were set in space rather than being Medieval. A similar concept was implemented with other ideas in Eufloria, which at least the HD upgrade exists on Steam now. Eufloria has a plant theme so you're controlling spores and mines that come from nurturing trees growing on multiple planets, rather than using troops to invade castle nodes, but it's a lot more beautiful than the others as well as having more complex mechanics. I also tried the first Mushroom Wars back then, it wasn't bad, though not especially memorable.
