This FAQ provides answers to the questions we get most often. Before you post a question, be sure to read here first to see if it’s been addressed already! Also, we’ll add to this FAQ in the future, as we tackle new questions that come up.

GENERAL

Where can I get the game?

The Lord of the Rings: Adventure Card Game is available on Steam, PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch.

Is this the same as the physical LCG?

The Lord of the Rings: Adventure Card Game was inspired by FFG’s tabletop game (The Lord of the Rings: The Card Game)—however, it was always intended as a new and distinct experience. This game offers a unique digital experience—solo and 2-player cooperative adventures that combine
an immersive narrative experience with strategic deck building challenges.

Can I play offline?

No. A connection is required to play. Only Switch has an offline mode for single play at this time.

Can I play multiplayer games offline?

No, you must be online to play a multiplayer game.

Does the game follow the storyline of The Lord of the Rings?

Currently, the game’s events are set after Bilbo's hundred-and-eleventh birthday (which occurs many years after The Hobbit), but before the events of The Fellowship of the Ring.

How do I communicate with other players in the game?

In cooperative multiplayer sessions, the game offers an emote-based chat, as well as a ping system to indicate points of interest on the game board. Otherwise, most game platforms offer their own text or voice chat which players can use, and there is also an active fan channel on Discord.

NEWS & UPDATES

When will you release new content?

We’re hard at work on new content right now! Announcements are made no more than two weeks before the release date. We recommend following the FFI Twitter account (@FFI_Games), since it is used to share any news posts.

When do you perform updates?

When a new patch is planned, we typically just announce the date that it will occur.

LIVESTREAMS & VIDEOS

Where can I find your livestreams?

Visit {LINK REMOVED} for all our in-office livestreams. Also, this has an archive of our previous livestreams.

When is your next livestream?

We aren’t ready to announce a date at this time. Long-term plans for livestreams and other community support efforts are being worked out currently.

THE GAME

Why can’t I add certain cards to my deck?

Some cards can only be used if you create the deck using two—or even three—Heroes of a specific Sphere of Influence. Each of these “Sphere level” cards has a “2” or “3” next to the Sphere icon in the bottom right corner.

Why are some cards locked?

You can spend Fellowship to unlock new Fellowship cards. When you buy an expansion, all the cards that come with it are unlocked automatically.

Is there a PvP mode?

There is no PvP mode planned at this time.

TECHNICAL

How do I report a problem in the game?

The best way is to submit a ticket at {LINK REMOVED} or directly through the platform on which you’re playing the game. When submitting a ticket, please include your player ID (found on the Options menu). This helps us to resolve faster any account-related issues.

I got disconnected during a game; what happened?

This is usually a server-related issue, either on the client or host side. Checking your Internet connection and restarting the game often fixes this. If the problem persists, you can submit a Helpshift ticket.

Does the game have cross-platform play?

Yes! Cross-platform gameplay is available across all platforms, including consoles, PC, and Mac.

Does the game offer cross-platform saves?

No. Each console is a closed system; a separate account is required for each. We’re not allowed to have cross save due to the regulations that we must follow from each platform. So, unfortunately, your gameplay cannot be moved from one platform to another. (Steam is an exception of sorts, since the same account can be used on both PC and Mac platforms.)

Can I move my account from one platform to another?

No. This policy comes from the consoles themselves. Each platform is a distinct closed system, so each requires a separate account. Unfortunately, this means even a one-time move is not possible.

What are the minimum system requirements for PC?

OS: Windows 7 / Windows 8 / Windows 10
Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 (2.4 Ghz) or AMD Athlon 64 X2 5000+ (2.6
Ghz) or better

Graphics: Nvidia GeForce 8800 GT (512 MB) or better; ATI Radeon HD 4850
(512 MB) or better; Intel Haswell Iris and HD Graphics
Network: Broadband Internet connection
Storage: 6 GB available space

What are the minimum system requirements for Mac?

OS: OSX10.10
Processor: Intel Core i3 or better
Memory: 2 GB RAM
Graphics: Nvidia GeForece GT 650M or better; ATI Radeon HD 5670 or better;
Intel Haswell Iris and HD Graphics

We will continue to add to this FAQ in the future, so if a question and answer is not here for the moment it may be added later.
