Im a bit surprised that FFI haven’t decided this already and won’t give the community any details. So far FFI have done right by their community. It was a shame about the economy change but it’s better to get these kind of decisions early.
Now FFI have to prove themselves with a second big decision that will effect the players economy and the community need an answer sooner rather than later. If it’s a bad decision for the player, ie cards are not carried over, at least new players can make an informed decision on whether they want to support the game or not.
Personally I will be very disappointed if the cards aren’t carried over. The first economy change almost guaranties that I have to purchase the base game on all the platforms I want to play it on. (This has not been announced yet, it’s only my own speculation).
Blizzard and Bethesda don’t seem to have had issues with this... hopefully Asmodee can make it happen and cross platform play as well
But I know I'm not the only one who would be likely to buy the game in both places if it saved my progression and card collection. (I'm not sold on the game yet enough) I certainly will skip the switch version if it doesn't though.
If it was a technical issue I would have expected the generally candid FFI to say something about 'investigating' it or 'hoping to' do it if possible, as they did in the past regarding different planned languages and platforms. 'Can't confirm' to me sounds like negotiation they aren't permitted to speak about until it's concluded.
In reality it is about the money and nobody want to another platform get money that "belong to them"... So somekind of compromise is needed to achieve that. All in all it means we have to play more if this will be multiplatform game because there are more corporations that would like to get their chare of the income.
