Fantasy Flight Interactive is closing next month.

"It's with great sadness that I have to report that the decision has been made to close Fantasy Flight Interactive next month. I'm proud of the team and the game we've dedicated ourselves to for the past few years. It's a been an amazing journey with even more amazing people. I'm going to do my best to get my team placed in new positions. I have programmers, designers, artists, QA staff and a producer to get placed in new roles and will do my best to do so quickly."

So what does it means for the game, there are several possibilities :
- It will become unplayable due to servers shutting down totally.
- Servers will be maintained (or a server free version will be released) but no new content will appear.
- A new studio takes the following. (unlikely)

This hits hard in many places, damn shame. Been that kind of year or two though.


Hate it for those people, I will live no matter what happens to game, but damn that is a lot of jobs gone.

As you can see in linkedin comment, there's already looking for others jobs. And yeah, this is sad. Hope they'll find their new job fast.
The game never truly had the time to really shine, and it could be great to be able to cut the need for an external server.

Yes, my foult, We will be able to still play this game, but it's all. No more new packs for sure.

We can hope that someone picks up the brand some how .... at this point its hard to say though what the ultimate end is..

The game won't be picked up by anyone else, that would require both FFG and whoever owns the rights to LotR digital IP (WB?) to agree to it and it's in neither's interest for a game that was a commercial flop.

The online servers are absolutely going to be shut down, if you're lucky they will disable the need for an internet connection so you can still play it on the PC for as long as you have it downloaded.

I will give kudos to FFI for giving away the last content they made for free instead of trying to make some money off a dead product though.

Their parent company, Asmodee, has a digital division already. The only hope for this game continuing is with Asmodee Digital at the helm. But they also manage a bunch of apps and are developing future board game adaptations like the game of thrones board game. So who knows

People are loosing jobs, lots of people, goes further than this one game , get a grip. Have some respect , this game did ok in sales over all. Goes way beyond this game........
