How is Legolas a Silvan elf?
Hi. I just started playing this game and I noticed something very, very uncanon. Legolas is a silvan in this game. He wasn't, he was a Sindar, like his father. Why hasn't this been corrected?
I see that the LCG has this too, and that Thranduil is also a "silvan". Ouch. For a ME fan like me this is a hard pill to swallow.

I just took it to be that it simplifies things and does not require extra ink or cards which keep the cost a bit lower . Legolas did act as if he were Silvan though, and this is Canon and in the lore. He never claimed his SINDARIN heritage and in LoTR he claimed to actually be Silvan .

Largely because the actual division of elves is too complicated for the simplified races of this game: http://tolkiengateway.net/wiki/Elves#Major_divisions. The main division between Noldor and Silvan makes it mechanically easier, and is, I think, a necessary compromise. Another thematic problem you'll run into is that Cirdan is classified as Noldor... even though he, too, is more accurately Sindar! Such are the necessary evils of translated a very complex lore into a playable game.

They could have used Calaquendi/Moriquendi division or High Elf/Elf.
