CHAPTER 13 | The Thunder Mountains Area  🔆 #Alex&Arty

 In this thirteenth chapter, it's time to talk about the Thunder Mountains, an area further inland on Arcadia, on the planet Gladness.

Visually, this biome packs a punch with its barren slopes rising into jagged peaks. And watch out for environmental hazards: massive lava falls crash down into the fog below, forming toxic, bubbling rivers. We’ve meticulously tweaked the color palette so the visual contrast in this zone really pops on screen.

Lore-wise, Foundry K needed to expand across Arcadia at breakneck speed, so we designed their outposts using modular structures. The key? Materials. Every biome forces you to adapt, and here, the tech had to withstand extreme heat. Foundry K’s obsession with farming precious metals directly from the volcano has destabilized the entire map. This is pure environmental storytelling: you'll notice it instantly in the colors, the chaotic layout of the facilities, and their state of decay.

As if that wasn't enough, the Slime acts as a constant threat, suffocating what little flora manages to respawn in such a hostile map. The challenge is set: will you manage to clean up the zone and stabilize the biome in time? Let us know in the comments how you fared with the challenge!
