We have been waiting a long time for this day. The Love: Fall in Death demo is now live during Steam Next Fest, and it's free.

The demo is a slice of the game's first chapter. Kutay, Batu and Gökhan are hanging out at a bar when Ayşil walks in, and before they know it the three of them have made a bet about her. What happens after that is up to you.

Then there are the dice. At key moments you roll, just like in a tabletop RPG. You might pick the right answer, but if the roll doesn't go your way, that answer won't save you. Some of our biggest laughs during testing came from exactly those moments.

A single playthrough takes about 20 minutes. If you go back to see what the other choices do, it can stretch to an hour, because the night plays out a little differently every time.

Just like the full game, the demo has voice acting in 11 languages and subtitles in 13.

We won't tell you how the demo ends. Let's just say the night isn't as innocent as it looks. The rest arrives on October 29.

If you play it, we'd love to hear what you think in the Steam discussions. We read every post. And if you add the game to your wishlist, Steam will let you know the day it comes out.

The free demo of Love: Fall in Death opens tomorrow, October 19, as part of Steam Next Fest, and we could not be more excited to finally let you go on your first date.

Over the past weeks our first playtesters went through the demo, and the feedback has been incredibly helpful. Players laughed, screamed, failed a few dice rolls and told us exactly where the experience could be better. We have been working through that list ever since.

• Voice acting and subtitle issues reported in some languages have been fixed for the full game.
• Character names in the Codex were hard to read. They are now clearly visible.

• Dice system: the number you need to succeed will be shown on screen, so you will always know how high you need to roll.
• Story Map: we are reworking it into the classic structure you know from FMV games, and we are confident it will be much clearer.
• Love Meter and stats: the game will explain more clearly what they do and how they shape your night.
• Audio: we are rebalancing the opening music so it does not drown out everything else.

Our goal is simple: on October 29 we want you to play Love: Fall in Death in the most polished shape we can possibly deliver.

If you play the demo tomorrow and something feels off, tell us in the Steam discussions. We read everything.

Add Love: Fall in Death to your wishlist so you know the moment the demo opens. See you tomorrow.
