Thats All I Know
Thanks Again For Being So Helpful, Contact Me If You Need Anything Else. Your A Great Dev. Thanks alot.
Yes, his computer is not the best, but this game should run at least on average at a level acceptable frame rate.
DEV, work in the performance of levels, please.
I just stated his computer DOES NOT meet the minimum system requirements. Therefore it is an issue with his hardware. If your computer does meet the requirements on the store page then it is an issue with the game and if your settings are adjusted properly. In this case Jay's computer doesn't meet the minimum system requirements listed on the store page. Just because you are able to run a game that looks better doesnt mean you will be able to run a game that has worse graphics. Since some games will use more cpu intensive tasks and others will utilize more gpu intensive tasks, and some games will be better suited to run on your hardware. In short I set appropriate minimum system requirements, if you meet those requirements and are unable to run 30fps on low settings at 720p then the issue is a conflict between your hardware and the game so I need to know what hardware you are using so I can fix that issue. As I stated before I am working on fixing performance issues with the game, and it's in early access the game isn't fully optimized which is one reason it is in early access.
Maybe a better way to explain it is your gpu and cpu perform calculations when running a game and if they are unable to perform those in fast enough time you will experience a low frame rate. The reason there is an issue is either you don't meet the minimum requirements or the game is conflicting with your hardware and I need to address it. I am working to lower the amount of calculations your computer has to do to run the game, however the game is in early state therefore there will be a bit more calculations to process. I will work to allow the game to run on lower spec hardware as development continues however as of now the min specs are as follows:
MINIMUM:
OS: Windows XP or later
Processor: Dual Core Processor @2.4 ghz or better
Memory: 2 GB RAM
Graphics: Intel HD Graphics 4000 or better
DirectX: Version 9.0
Storage: 1 GB available space
The issue with Jay's system is his cpu runs at 1.3ghz his gpu is outdated and operates slower then intel hd graphics 4000
My PC:
Radeon 6670 GDDR5 1GB
FX 6100 4.2Ghz
8GB's Ram
My PC is not powerful. But having to run the game in Potato computer mode? sorry, it's ridiculous.
I ask only DEV, update missions with better performance.
We have numerous games in Unity (Firewatch) among others with great performances!
Allow me to quote what nick said once again.
I cut that down to the bare minimum important information for you to understand. You've been somewhat stressing nick out, when all he wants is to make you understand the issue and work with you to fix it. Please understand this, and instead of ignoring all information he offers, simply leave out the snarky comments at the dev's ability to create a decent game and co-operate with him.
Cheers. EDIT: Games such as Firewatch are not currently in a state that's basically pre-alpha. Firewatch is a rather successful, fully completed game with a large fanbase. Sneak Thief only got greenlit I think about 7 or 8 months ago and ever since it released on Steam nick's worked every day to make it better for everyone. Firewatch hasn't had that community interaction phase whatsoever, already making it a bad analogy. Thanks.
I'm getting ~3-5FPS whenever I move in the game. If I am standing still, I can look around at probably near 30 or so, but if there is another person (Such as the person coming home during the home invasion mission) and he sees/is shooting at me, I drop to 1 FPS.
I'm running:
CPU- AMD FX 8350 8-core, 4.0 GHz
GPU- nVidia GTX 960
RAM- 16 GB DDR3
OS- Windows 10
My computer has problems with other games (Eg. Running Mount and Blade Warband at low frames during the map view) So I'm not sure if my computer is just problematic, but it may be conflicting with the game. Have you heard of any other computers with similar specs having these problems?
Edit: Just tested. Still the same problem. As I stated, it may be related to my hardware, as it struggles to run certain games that it definitely should at a decent FPS. I'm planning on upgrading here soon enough (although probably not at least for another year, as I've had a bunch of unforseen expenses such as surgery for my dog) So I'll keep the game for now and avoid returning it and let you know if it runs better on my new PC. Please let me know if you find similar problems when you check it out though. Thanks!
