Just letting the PC users know about this if your interested.
I own the PS4 version of NHE, but I got a refund for the PC version as at the time of release it had no support for my wheel and if I wanted a refund I had to do it immed. I will most likely get it at some point again. but there is a PC Nascar game out there that is more complete, more ready for leagues, and is FREE! so im only posting this to offer something else, I am not bashing NHE. just letting you guys know of another game and why not have both :) http://arcasimracingx.com/docs/install.php

Wow, I just looked at a few Youtube videos for ASRX. Just what is it that makes you think it's better then NASCAR Heat? I'm guessing it's just the fact that there might be a few more races for multiplayer server sessions.

Honestly, those graphics are not that great and at least NASCAR Heat has some damage modeling. I do like that ASRX also has trucks but for me, I just can't get past the graphics, even for a 2015 sim.

And, I've tried to download it, and NORTON determined it to be unsafe and removed it before I could download it.

Thats because its not a 2015 sim

Its certainly a better simulator. I have this, and i had the original arca/remax cd version they sold back in 2008. Its an old sim based off of rfactor/isi gmotor engine and therefore why it looks dated, although i guarantee 100 percent its more of a sim than heat. (No surprise....i enjoy heat, but a sim...it aint)

The graphics really arent that bad and i must say, if you feel you cant "get past" them, i find it odd. They certainly do the job, and driving it rather than watching videos would go a way towards showing that. Hell its free so why would you not even try it?

Also, damage modelling? Of course its got it.....and its better than heats. So are the physics, the camera views, the data collection, the tire modelling.....etc etc..... as youd expect from what is essentially an rfactor mod. (Even though in its original form it was marketed and sold as a standalone game)

I can also tell you there are no viruses, and it has a thriving community online, but if you want norton to just do its own thing thats fine also.

However, gspectre...

As you appear to have neither game i dont imagine your viewpoint to be a particularly educated one.

DISCLAIMER. Im no arca fan boy, or ASRX as its called now, far from it, hell i actually hardly play it, but i feel watching a couple of vids, then complaining about the graphics, on a (wrongly) assumed 2015 sim, in a comparison to this game, when the former IS FAR SUPERIOR to this one at what they profess to do, and indeed about 8 years older on a 12 years older engine (approximate dates...) and about £45 cheaper, needed a slight steer. Hate as you want, i care not.

Here's the actual deal behind ASRX:

It's a modded version of ARCA Sim Racing that was put together about two years ago primarily using a combination of game models from previously made rFactor stock car mods, rebuilt rFactor tracks, and some tracks used by The Sim Factory (who were the actual creators of ARCA Sim Racing and have nothing to do with this current state of the game). The individual who did the vast majority of the modding content found in that sim split with person currently running it back in December of 2014, creating his own separate mod of ARCA Sim Racing which is used today and runs under a private banner.

While ASRX may offer a large quantity of tracks and vehicles, their content is ridiculously out of date in terms of models, tracks, and overall graphical content. Plus, the physics are a whole other discussion and furthermore, it does not have The Sim Factory's blessing or approval.

Having said that, the game engine they use has a lot more potential. For example, the "other" mod of ARCA Sim Racing that has updated their car models and features updated tracks looks like this in comparison:

That particular mod shown in the images above is in the process of moving to rFactor 2 next season for its league members so we can continue to upgrade by moving to a newer game and graphics engine.

The reality is while ASRX offers some decent features and a stable online play, the mod is outdated and basically a decade old in terms of visual appeal. Heck, I play it once in a blue moon on occasion for some fun but it's really hard to get past the poor visuals. Some of these old games have had good runs (and still do with modders who know what they're doing), but ultimately there comes a time to move forward.

im sorry, but to me for a 2016 game NHE does not feel modern what so ever. I feel both have pretty close to the same graphics look. I like NHE on the PS4 , but even ASRX that is based off the rfactor engine of 2006 has better wheel support then the NHE. I will buy the pc version again someday. but I got a refund as it wont let me use my wheel. my friend still has his PC version and I race his PC version and im not that impressed in the sim feel. asrx is not perfect. but it is free and is way better looking playing it then in videos. I just thought i would share its existance for those with wheels and wanting more realistic gaming feel. no reason why you cant have both, no worries if you are happy with NHE, just if you have the space and love nascar games why not have it is all. well create a great day.

and this relates to this game... how?
Sterling Archer Sep 23, 2016 @ 2:04pm
theres always one.....

Actually ASR is the most realistic sim out there as far as car physics go, or at least it was. The Camping World Trucks and ARCA cars on ASRX is still the original physics that the Sim Factory produced and even the Dillons used it for testing themselves (I raced with them on it). I know GTRL still runs trucks twice a week or something on it. You can all bash ASRX for looks all you want but physics wise there's still no beating the car physics themselves on the default ARCA cars and CWTS vehicles.

gtrl runs both trucks and cups once a week. the came out with a low downforce cup cars and made the old cup cars the xfinity cars now. so they are more hard but fun to handle the cups I mean

tim smith. I guess it only relates to NHE in that they both are Nascar games. I was only telling the PC people about it as it is free and why not have it if you have space. I have not said once that people should not get NHE or it is crap, just that if you want another game here ya go. I still have all the VHR and Stockcar Evolution games on my system.

Oh don't get me wrong, it had/has some great things and aspects of it, especially the tire model. Heck, for the rest of this season my leagues are still running our Cup, Xfinity, and Late Model series using the ARCA Sim Racing EXE. I just think ASRX could have done more in terms of enhancing the graphical content of their version of the mod, especially since the version of ARCA Sim Racing my league uses looks far better from a visual standpoint despite running on the same EXE.
