Game doesn't launch correctly

Hello, I'd like some help to run my game. When I try launching it, it takes about a full minute to display anything else than a black screen (though the music starts just fine), and when it does, I'm stuck on this: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=840224652 I'm running on Windows 8.1 with a 64bit processor. Thanks in advance for your help....

Dialogue Speed

....is painfully slow. I'm the sort of person who does read/listen to game stories, but the speed of dialogue in this game is seriously testing my patience. There are plenty of people who probably skip the story automatically anyway. Though, some might like to know how the game works, but not have the patience to sit through the entire tutorial. Oh, just found turbo mode........and that's a bit better, but still slower than I like. Also, the fact that mode wasn't obvious might be a problem....
