Stuck in Lava Maze - (Solved)

I've turned on the hot planet and headed into a covered lava maze area. I managed to get to the first checkpoint (nothing interesting was there!) and now there is a new checkpoint apparently 3 floors up from the lava - higher than I can reach.

I've found a save point, a switch and a fountain on the two floors above the lava - but now I'm just running round in circles! I can see up to the next floor through holes in the ceiling but there's nothing to climb with.

I'm sure I could work it out from a video... but having a hard part even finding the maze section, although I've found people playing other bits of the lava world.

As no-one else has mentioned this I'm guessing I've missed an obvious route - any help appreciated, thanks!
