So sloppy.
I have ethernet connected via USB port if that could be a factor. Kind of frustrating, just started playing on Switch and within two or three hours of playing this happened. I would hate to think how frustrating this would be if I was deep in the dungeon or had good gear.
EDIT: Added notes - it treated my next game as the same adventurer as last time (i.e. Rodney the fourth, again; didn't register the achievement I had gotten for using detect magic scroll).

In my case, I think both crashes happened out of nowhere, thus I suspect they where right at the beginning of those "dungeon loading" points. Once, it happened on the very first floor, while the other it was on the third floor (or fourth, don't quite remember).
As I mentioned on the Reddit topic, this is incredibly frustrating for the type of game this is: when such crashes take place, absolutely nothing is saved from the run, be it achievements or even the seed.
I'm contemplating stop playing until this particular problem is fixed, that's how frustrating it is.
Was this port not done by the original devs?
Really kills the fun.

Highly encourage folks here to direct any issues to him as they seem to be actively working on some of the issues.
Update 1: Now 8:30 PM and still no crashes, it's been fixed and now would recommend the Switch version.
Update 2: Just had my first crash 10 PM, not sure if it was just random or something went wrong. Walked into a room, library with I think a gas vent trap. As soon as I got fully in the room it crashed. Still, from one crash an hour to one crash every ten hours is an improvement.
