DO NOT BUY THE NINTENDO SWITCH VERSION
I mistakenly bought this on the switch today since I love the game, but the port is a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ mess.

It has crashed TWICE on me in my mere 2 hours of playing. I made it all the way to the 8th floor (furthest i've ever made it), even had a descent scroll in hand, and the game just crashes.

Two crashes? In two hours? What kind fo sloppy port is this? Severely disappointed, and I won't be playing until there are patches to fix this garbage.

Definitely disappointing. Hopefully there will be a fix soon for the crashes and the in-level dungeon generation. Until then, back to the PC

It's definitely irratating. I was really looking foraward to playing it too. I don't mind the game pausing, although I know it's not supposed to. But the crashing needs to get fixed.

This would have been my first win, floor 8, i had this ring that made me take half damage and +3 strength, 12+ rations, 3+ health potions, and a backpack FULL of daggers. Instead it has just soured my experience with this game.

So sloppy.

Hi CopseEater, very sorry to hear this happening. This is not supposed to happen. Could you please report some details about this to our console publisher's Discord (http://bit.ly/DigeratiSupport ) or let them know at @DigeratiDM. Or even here: do you remember what happened when the game crashed, like entering a staircase or opening a chest?

One of the times my game crashed i had pushed a switch. I also tend to put my console to sleep, so that might be part of the problem

Was fighting a bunch of spiders and had it crash again. It might have been right as I let go of the ZR button

I just had the same error. I wasn't doing anything. I have autopause on and was in my inventory screen. I had left the game running in the background while I washed dishes (yes, yes, domestic Sunday). The game just closed on its own with the "Software closed due to an unexpected error." message.

I have ethernet connected via USB port if that could be a factor. Kind of frustrating, just started playing on Switch and within two or three hours of playing this happened. I would hate to think how frustrating this would be if I was deep in the dungeon or had good gear.

EDIT: Added notes - it treated my next game as the same adventurer as last time (i.e. Rodney the fourth, again; didn't register the achievement I had gotten for using detect magic scroll).

I raised this exact same problem on Reddit here:
https://www.reddit.com/r/unexploredgame/comments/96mnuk/two_crashes_in_one_hour_of_gameplay/

In my case, I think both crashes happened out of nowhere, thus I suspect they where right at the beginning of those "dungeon loading" points. Once, it happened on the very first floor, while the other it was on the third floor (or fourth, don't quite remember).

As I mentioned on the Reddit topic, this is incredibly frustrating for the type of game this is: when such crashes take place, absolutely nothing is saved from the run, be it achievements or even the seed.

I'm contemplating stop playing until this particular problem is fixed, that's how frustrating it is.

Was this port not done by the original devs?

Yes I was so excited to play this on the switch, but I'm not touching it until there are lots of bug fixes. SUCH A DISAPPOINTMENT.

Same for me, the game just crashes at seemingly random points without stating a reason.
Really kills the fun.

Yeah bro, it really sucks. Really ruins a great game. And when you get a crash, you lose your progress, so back to floor one!

The sound designer for the game is taking feedback on Reddit over here:
https://www.reddit.com/r/unexploredgame/comments/96xxh7/feedback_on_switch_version_please_post_here/

Highly encourage folks here to direct any issues to him as they seem to be actively working on some of the issues.

So, the crashes are happening to more than just me. I get a crash pretty much every 3 runs or so.
CyanDoomdragon Aug 21, 2018 @ 2:04pm
Patch dropped today, it brings it to version 1.2.0. I've been playing since noon and it hasn't crashed once for me (currently five at time of posting), also the loading seems a little better.

Update 1: Now 8:30 PM and still no crashes, it's been fixed and now would recommend the Switch version.

Update 2: Just had my first crash 10 PM, not sure if it was just random or something went wrong. Walked into a room, library with I think a gas vent trap. As soon as I got fully in the room it crashed. Still, from one crash an hour to one crash every ten hours is an improvement.

I've had 3 crashes since the patch. A little less than before, but that is the only benefit I have seen so far from the patch. The only other thing I noted was that the version was updateed from 18.1 to 19.3 (same as pc). Without seeing any release notes, it appears that the code update was the only real modification. Between the crashes and the "Generating Dungeon Data", I have gone back to the pc, with hopes that they will fix the switch version.
