Truth & Not Being William Afton
SPOILER WARNING – this is your only warning!!!
This has 3 parts also, please read them all.

You do not play as William Afton, AKA the Purple Man, in Sister Location and I’m going to present to you my best argument for that based off of facts and logical reasoning, not conjecture, and I’m going to dispel some previous theories and speculations along the way.
I’m going to start with the facts that we are presented from the very beginning of the Sister Location game, and support them with facts and things we know about the other games and the Silver Eyes novel, until we get all the way until the very end of the game.

I have already made a thread regarding my hypothesis but it is not cohesively put together and this is my attempt to put all my cards on the table at once for all to see, and I would like to thank those of you who have already supported me on my previous thread- without your inspiration and input I wouldn’t be writing this now.
This will be a long post. Dawko, Markiplier, Razz, 8 bit Gaming, Game Theorists, Scott (love your face please don’t send the Biddybabs after me) I am calling you out, and for the rest of you, well ladies and gentlemen buckle your seatbelts because we are going for one hell of a ride!

The game starts out with a Board Member (we know this is a Board Member thanks to the voice acting leaks) speaking to William Afton about the robots, and for the first time ever we hear the voice of William Afton, the Purple Man, which is surprisingly British with hints at evil undertones – and in the first few seconds of the game the first theory is destroyed:
William Afton, the Purple Man, is NOT Phone Guy. They do not have the same voice, they cannot be the same person, and Sister Location confirms this within seconds, so the theory that Phone Guy is Purple Man can die in a blaze of glory right off the bat.
As soon as Afton begins to speak, he immediately goes into the specific design features of the ‘Baby’ model robot indicating that he is not merely just the CEO who’s name is in the Company Title ‘Afton Robotics’ but that he has intimate knowledge of the models his company produces and what they can do– keep this thought in mind because it’s going to come back later.

Even the Silver Eyes novel supports that William Afton wasn’t just the guy at the top of the totem pole, he was a business partner that was hands-on in what happened at both Fredbear’s Family Diner and Freddy’s Fazzbear’s Pizzeria –he wore the Spring Bonnie costume and entertained children himself after all!

The next thing we hear after starting the game is a little girl’s voice asking, “Daddy, daddy why won’t you let me play with her?” introducing her as a pivotal character in the story, more on her involvement in a moment, because at this point there aren’t enough facts about this child, who she is talking about, or whom she is talking to that will allow us to draw any logic conclusions.

The screen fades from black, you are in the elevator and Handy begins with “Welcome to the first day of your exciting new career…” this is the very first red flag that you are not playing at William Afton. If you were playing as William Afton – why are you being treated like a brand new employee who just started work with the company? Also, a man who has the ability to program state-of-the-art animatronic robots would logically be able to program the Hand Units his company uses to recognize who he is, I bet his username and password alone are Super Admin level.

Handy then says that you will have “…endless janitorial opportunities…” Now I know I said William Afton was a hands-on kind of guy, but even a hands-on CEO’s don’t scrub the toilets, man, which brings me to my second red flag. If you play as William Afton, the guy behind the name of and the head of ‘Afton Robotics’, why are you doing the job of lowly janitorial maintenance technician? The logical conclusion, you wouldn’t because like I said no CEO gives himself a demotion –he hires some other shmuck to do it!
The actual Hand Unit device pops up and we see that the keypad is faulty, this is the third red flag – no one gives the CEO of a company broken equipment to work with, the CEO always gets the best stuff the company has to offer, and if the CEO finds that he was given faulty equipment to work with, he fires the people responsible for giving him crap and orders someone to bring him one that works.

The elevator stops and you press the big red button to open the doors only to see, not a hallway, but a ventilation shaft that you have to crawl through in order to leave the elevator- this is a red flag that screams and waves at you with sparklers. Again, CEO/head of the Company, man’s name is in the Company Title, and you want me to believe that he is crawling around in vent shafts?! NOPE. I have personally known way to many department, CEO and company heads, some nice and some not, and regardless of their disposition none of them would crawl through a vent when they could have the REAL new guy do it, or could find a way to another elevator that would take them to a section of the floor with a REAL HALLWAY.

Now that your character has crawled into the amazingly creepy vent shaft, Handy begins speaking once again and he tells you that Freddy Fazzbear’s Pizza has closed down; this is a very important piece of information that tells us that this game takes place after FNAF2 & FNAF 1. In both of those games we learned that Freddy Fazzbear’s pizza closed because children were lured to the back room by the Purple Man (who we learned from the Silver Eyes novel IS William Afton) who murdered them and stuffed their bodies into the animatronic suits, which caused too much negative publicity for the company, health code violations, police involvement, and forced Freddy’s to close down for good. This also tells us that Purple Man has already been hard at work murdering kids long before the events of Sister Location take place, and that he has done terrible things by his own hand by his own personal choices. More on that later, also keep this in mind.

Making your way into the main Control Module, Handy engages us in another bit of dialogue and shows us something that is PIVOTAL in revealing how little William Afton cares for his own Robotic creations – the Controlled Shock Buttons. William Afton finds it perfectly acceptable to electrocute his own creations to make sure they keep in line and do exactly as they are supposed to do even though it undoubtedly causes them pain as indicated by the muffled electronic screams of agony that follow each pressing of the button. Handy is even programmed to THANK YOU for electrocuting Ballora and Funtime Foxy! William Afton is a cold-hearted killer who gives no ♥♥♥♥s about his creations, also more on this later on in the game as things reveal themselves.

Now that you’ve zapped the crap out of the robots, it’s time for another journey down a vent shaft and here is another key piece of information is revealed – a computerized voice, “Motion Trigger, Circus Gallery Vent.” Why would someone put motion triggers in a vent? The logical answer is very simple – they don’t want anything getting out or going where it’s not supposed to. This also confirms William Afton’s iron grip and fierce control that he holds over his animatronics – he does not want them escaping or getting out.
And once we get through this vent we are again shown just how little Afton cares for his creations when we are ordered to administer 3 controlled shocks to Baby, one directly after the other until she complies as apparently 3 successive electrical shocks is not seen as excessive or potentially damaging to her despite her screaming.

Our duties fulfilled for the night, Handy sends us home to relax and again we are met with a visual shock that is a clear indication that you do NOT play as William Afton. Your living room looks like it’s straight out of the 1980s, the lamp is old, the clock is a retro design, and the TV has TWIN DIAL KNOBS ON IT WITH ANTENNAS! Look guys I was born in 1985 I know what TVs with dial buttons and antennas look like in person and they were dying out long before I was born – so what does this room tell us? Well the guy sitting in the chair eating popcorn doesn’t have a lot of money and he lives in an old house with old furnishings – not what you would expect from a man who sells STATE OF THE ART Animatronics that according to Phone Guy in FNAF 2 says cost Fazzbear Entertainment a “SMALL FORTUNE” to purchase! William Afton, the head of a company should have money! He should be wealthy if he’s selling off animatronic attractions for rent and has a monopoly on the market now that Freddy Fazzbear’s has closed down. This is a travesty! This guy you play as is SO POOR he doesn’t even own a VCR player!!
Moving on to Night 2…

The little girl voice returns, “Daddy you let the other children go play with her – why won’t you let me go?” Yet even though she speaks a second time we aren’t given any solid information about who she is, who her father is, who “her” is, or what any of their roles are in the story just yet.

Handy changes into an Angsty Teen and whilst crawling through the air vent he tells you, “You know they found a dead body in this vent once?” Well if you’re William Afton, the guy that runs this show, I’m sure you know when, where and how your employees die especially since it’s company policy according to Phone Guy in FNAF 1 “that upon the event that death or dismemberment have occurred a missing person’s report will be filed within 90 days, as soon as all the floors have been thoroughly cleaned and bleached, and the carpets have been replaced…” Being the child killing murdering psychopath that is the Purple Man – I’m sure he wrote that policy over drinks and a steak dinner while laughing to himself.

Part 2
You eventually make your way into the Circus Gallery, the Controlled Shock Button Malfunctions and Handy says that he is going to shut down to reboot the system all while turning off other systems like, “security doors, vent locks, and oxygen…” If you are playing as William Afton and you are the guy that owns this company, why in the hell don’t you know how to override Handy’s shut down procedure and get to safety first?

Another thing I want you all to think about – for those of you that read the Silver Eyes book, when the animatronics at Freddy Fazbears started wigging out what was William Afton’s, the Purple Man’s, first instinct? Run and hide in his favorite Spring Lock suit to protect himself, so he could hide, as he put it, as “one of them”. If you are playing as William Afton – who didn’t you go down there WEARING your favorite spring lock suit – the very thing that makes you feel safest around the animatronics? Truth is, you don’t play as William Afton and you don’t have access to Spring Lock suits, but let’s continue as there is more evidence to get through.

Handy shuts down, the lights go off, vents open, locks disengage – and a new voice begins to speak to us and gives us the most damning piece of evidence that you do NOT play as William Afton, “I don’t recognize you. You are new.” Why would Baby NOT recognize her own creator? How could she not recognize the man that has imprisoned her, that orders employees to electrocute her if she doesn’t stay on her stage? That designed her to kill children and forces her to “do bad things”? It does not make sense that a robot with, as Phone Guy puts it in FNAF 2, advanced “facial recognition software” would NOT recognize William Afton – his face and voice should logically be in her memory banks.

Then shockingly, Baby helps you by telling you about the crawl space underneath the desk, that the guy who worked before you “crafted it and that it worked for him” and goes so far to tell you to hold out when the other animatronics come for you that “they will lose interest”. Again if you play as the Purple Man– you are the man that has imprisoned her – electrocutes her- forces her onto a stage – forces her to kill children and she wants to HELP you?! That doesn’t make a lick of sense! Of all the robots arguably Baby would be the first to want to kill you off, not help you.

Baby then goes one step further by telling you to not listen to Handy when he comes back online and that “if you follow his instructions, you will die” then tells you exactly how to make it through Ballora’s Gallery.

Which leads me to another point that I’m going to sum up here: throughout the game Handy tells you how the animatronics work, “you don’t want to create an auditory disturbance as to not disturb Ballora,” “Funtime Foxy is motion activated which is why we must keep the room dark so as not to accidentally activate her” Remember at the beginning of the game when I pointed out how William Afton rattled off all of Baby’s specifications instantly? Remember how in the Silver Eyes novels, he knew exactly what buttons, dials, and numbers on the controls to use and in what order to make Freddy, Bonnie and Chica move about on stage? Remember also in the Silver Eyes novels when he spoke to Carlton about the Spring Locks and how they worked? My point is – William Afton already KNOWS how the animatronics work and function! He wouldn’t need Handy to tell him that! This is yet another nail in the coffin for why you cannot possibly be playing as William Afton.

And also think back to how in the Silver Eyes novel William Afton ran immediately for his beloved Spring Bonnie suit when the animatronics began to malfunction, how in the blueprints that popup in the Sister Location loading screens you see the compartments that are meant to house children’s bodies inside, the voice luring speakers, the Parental Tracking devices – William Afton KNOWS about all of this, he knows EXACLTY how deadly and dangerous these robots can be. The Purple Man is a cunning and vicious killer and he would not put himself in a situation where he was not in a position to either control or blend in with the animatronics.

The game continues and we hear the little girl’s voice a third time and this time we get some information, “…she’s so pretty and shiny, didn’t you make her just for me?”
This is the bombshell folks get ready.

So this is what this short phrase tells us:
This little girl’s father had a hand in creating the animatronics, this means her father could be the only man that we know of that without a shadow of a doubt created animatronics – Henry, Charlie’s father from the Silver Eyes novel. Yes, William Afton helped Henry, but Henry was the main mechanic and creator where William did most of the running of the business, the workshop where they were built was even attached to Henry’s house – we know all of this and this is explained in the novel. We also know from the Silver Eyes novel that Henry had a daughter, named Charlie whereas William Afton is never said to have a wife or even a love interest and certainly NO children.

You know what else Henry Had? Henry also had a son that was killed in an accident that happened at Fredbear’s Family Diner when William Afton, dressed in the Spring Bonnie suit, stole him away one Halloween night – and who else do we know of that had an accident at a Fredbear’s Family Diner? Why the Crying Child victim of the accident of 1983 from FNAF 4 of course! And again to reference the novel in that scene where William and Carlton are talking, he points to a suit and says, “…that one is one of the first ones Henry made.” He doesn’t say that WE made or I made – he gives all the credit to HENRY, and even when Carlton doesn’t catch on who he is talking about William doesn’t try to take the spotlight and replies, “Charlie’s father.”

So when we see the Baby minigame where she lures the little girl in with the promise of ice cream and then pulls her inside her own body with a mechanized claw arm, it would make logical sense based off of the facts I previously provided that the little girl that dies at the hands of Baby – is Charlie. Well how can that be she doesn’t die in the novel – well that’s right and the novels are a retelling of the original story – it’s not hard to think that in the universe of Sister Location instead of Charlie surviving, she dies.

And you want to tell me that a man who has murdered children, created child murdering/child kidnapping robots, would suddenly have a soft spot for a child and want to PROTECT her? Shut the front door on your way out! And that “oh yea he cares about her and wants to protect her.” Oh really? Then why does he take her to Baby’s Pizza World where she could have the chance of accidentally being alone with one and stuffed into a robot?! The truth is that he doesn’t, because William Afton has no children and there is no proof in this game that this little girl is his daughter – she never mentions him by name, nothing in the game mentions him by name as her father, and everything points to the EXACT opposite.

Now let’s get to the endings because this hypothesis is getting really long, I’m running out of cosmopolitans and I gotta be at work at 6am.

The Scooping Room – further proof William Afton does not CARE about his creations, he thinks so little of them that after all the controlled shocks and forced torture he puts them through, if they stop doing what they are supposed to - he has their GUTS RIPPED OUT! And then he simply replaces the insides so they are once again compliant. Nice guy this Purple Man.

You get to the parts and services room to see Baby sitting on the conveyor belt and she tells you, “I want you to save what is good in me” and then send her to the scooping room. We have already pointed out that William Afton does not care at all about his animatronics because he administers electrical shocks to them and scoops their guts out if they don’t sing, dance and murder children for him – so WHY if you play as William Afton would you have ANY remorse or sympathy for Baby? You would have NO REASON to want to help her escape the hell you have created for her and the others – a machine that doesn’t do as it’s told is no longer a good machine. We have already stated that there is no evidence or proof that the little girl Baby killed was his daughter and that based off of the novel he has no children so the theory that he would care about Baby because she holds onto some part of his daughter can be set on fire and tossed out a window. Also please refer back to the basic fact that he is a CHILD MURDERING PSYCHOPATH that is INCAPABLE of emotions and reasoning like normal loving people.

*takes another deep drink of the cosmo to steady herself*
If you play as William Afton, the Purple Man, the Man with his name on the Company Name, that has designed these robots and the maintenance procedures for them, the man running the show, the man who doesn’t care about his robots, and has previously outsmarted them by dressing up in a Spring Suit - why would you let one of them convince you to go into the Scooping Room for any reason? You would KNOW the Scooping Room is a bad place for human beings to be in and dangerous! But I’ll give you one people, say that Afton put into policy that the guts be ripped out of the animatronics but didn’t know exactly how it was done – until Baby kidnaps you, stuffs you in a Spring Lock suit and leaves you in the Scooping Room to witness the scooper RIP THE GUTS out of Ballora- IF you played as Afton then you would certainly know then and you’d stay the hell outta that room!!

Part 3

But I think I’ve beaten the horse I rode in on with another dead horse to prove that you don’t play as William Afton – oh but there’s more, folks!!!

In that ending you see your silhouette in the mirror and are suddenly met with purple eyes and this makes some people think you MUST be the Purple Man because you have purple eyes. No. The Purple Man is the Purple Man because he WEARS purple – and past versions of Chica have had purple eyes. #YouEndUpAsChicaConfirmed #FANFJokes

But let’s say for the sake of argument for a moment that you play as William Afton, Ennard scoops out your innards, and wears you home so she can escape – I have a few questions (not like I haven’t asked a hundred already this post). The big one – Ennard ESCAPES the establishment, she is free, why would she, after all her careful planning and manipulation, if she is now the Purple Man go BACK to Freddy Fazzbear’s pizza like we see in the FANF 3 minigames and smash up the animatronics there? You don’t run away from a place and then run back to a similar place- you don’t want to get caught again – YOU keep running and you HIDE. Ennard would have no reason to go back to Freddy’s to destroy the animatronic’s there. You don’t play as William Afton, Ennard doesn’t get his body.

The second one, there are security cameras EVERYWHERE in Sister Location – someone the next day is going to SEE what happened to you, if they don’t see all the blood and guts in the scooper, and immediately come to your house especially if you are the guy that OWNS the company – think of all the unpaid checks if the CEO is dead!!

Third, if Ennard is wearing the Purple Man’s body then why does she/he/it/thing jump into the Spring Bonnie suit at the end of the FNAF 3 minigames if Baby has already clearly explained to us how DANGEROUS the suits are? She’s not alive she can’t possibly be afraid of ghosts and they cannot possibly hurt her – there is NO reason for her to jump into the suit if she is in his body when she could just waltz past the ghosts without fear of physical harm.

And finally, I keep reading, “Purple Man was bad because Ennard jumped into him,” NO, remember what I pointed out at the beginning of the game where Handy tells us that Fazzbear’s is closed, that we all know that Fazzbear’s closed because the Purple Man KILLED the kids at Freddy’s? He was already BAD to begin with! He didn’t need an episode of Invasion of the Body Snatchers to make him evil (young folks if you don’t know what that is please look it up).

The Fake Ending – The reflection underneath Ennard’s nose is that of another animatronic endoskeleton further proving you don’t play as Purple Man, I have already stated logic facts that Ennard is not Wiliam’s daughter, and I have already proven how little Purple man cares for the animatronics so why, if you play as Purple Man, would you bring the animatronic that spent the entire night trying to KILL you home with you!? IT MAKES NO SENSE PEOPLE!!

So in conclusion: All of that is why you do not play as William Afton *drops mic, kicks over the speaker, smashes it with Bonnie’s guitar*

If you managed to read through all of this you get 150 Fazz tokens, a Shadow Bonnie figurine will appear on your desk, and I hope to God that Scott reads this because I put a lot of effort into it.

Let me know what you thought in the comments below.
Thank you and Goodnight, FNAF fans!

Oh! Something I forgot to mention! If you play as William Afton - why don't you already have the keycard access to the Private Room? And why would they FIRE the guy that owns the company for viewing "sensitive and classified" information/material???
