It depends which game you're playing.The Nightmares likely don't actually kill you,the animatronics in the first and second game stuff you in a suit,and I'm pretty sure the SL animatronics and Springtrap just flat out kill you(unless Springtrap actually doesn't)

Since you get Jumpscared by Funtime Foxy during the regular game to proceed to Night 4, i'm guessing that any other Jumpscare from the Animatronics just leads to the same result, but you can't progress the game until you get to that particular point on Night 3.

Just a guess.

Well, in Fnaf and Fnaf 2, there's a game over screen that shows your fate. In fnaf 3, it only says game over. I think it's because you don't die. Not right after you're caught, anyways. That also explains why Springtrap isn't really in a threatening position, instead just walking to you. The blood on the screen in fnaf 4 kind of hints you die. As for Sister Location, I don't know. You're probably scooped.

could be because of the springlocks or that you are going to be in that suit forever
