Did the Purple Guy (William Afton) ever have a motive for killing the children?

i think he killed kids because he went insane after his son (the crying kid from fnaf 4) and his daughter(from fnaf sl) were killed by animatronics. also, william afton is not the PURPLE guy. Micale is.

In the games, he was already bent on victimizing children even before he lost his daughter to one of his creations, because HE designed the robots in the first place to lure and trap children.

In the books he had an unhealthful obsession with Henry, to the point that he no doubt resented Henry's marriage and family. It doesn't sound like Afton was lacking for anything, as he had plenty of money to build secret underground lairs with and was far more trusted and well-liked than Henry, yet he still did everything in his power to make Henry suffer.

William never "meant" to kill his children, he told his daughter to not go near the robots anyway... as for his son.... well idk, I think he told him to keep away to. Both his children got to close and well.. The son got bit and the daughter turned into ice cream>>

I completely agree with you.

In the games he seems to have a different reason for killing the kids than in the books. In the books is out of jealousy, because he wished a family for himself, he wished to be loved. But in the games it’s seems to be out of sadism.

Thanks! I'm not even sure if William from the novels would have welcomed the prospect of marriage and family, had he had that opportunity in his life. It's almost more like he simply didn't want [i[Henry[/i] to have that stuff, or at least it came across that way to me. He was the alpha male out of the duo and had a controlling nature.
