She's probably blind because Handunit mentioned that she finds you by hearing your movements, that's why you were provided with a flashlight and the reason as to the room being dimly lit. Funny, now that I think about it, you use Ballora's tactic against her. Because she listens for you and you listen for her. Anyway, I think the only problem with this theory is that she was provided eyes anyway. Or she simply can't open the eyelids without opening the faceplates around them which seems explainable since when she jumpscares you on Night 2 her faceplates trigger her eyes open as well. BUT in the trailer she jiggles moves her cheek faceplates slightly and that doesn't seem to effect the movement of the eyelids at all. OR it's a design choice. Idk it confuses me slightly and is a bit trippy to think about lol. I think I am on the right track though imo.
Blinding rage?
Best theory 2017
The eyelids look like they can open without the face plates being open, at least to me.
Maybe because the animatronics need eyes to function, regardless of whether they're used or not?
I mean, why would they need eyes to function?
Hmm... because their system always checks to see if their eyes are there or not, and if they're not, they change into "maintenance mode" because the system believes they are being repaired.
