What was your childhood memories of Chuck E. Cheese or ShowBiz?
As a kid, I loved Chuck E. Cheese's. Though I never payed llittle or any attention to the mascots. I think they look nothing like the characters they pose, but I get it's lower budget but come on do it for the kids. :steamfacepalm: ShowBiz pizza would have been better for me. But I loved the arcade games. Especially a Jurassic Park game. I loved Jurassic Park and dinosaurs as a kid and still do today. So what was your childhood at these pizzarias? Hopefully it wasn't like the crying child's memories. Please respect others in the comment sections. Thanks

I honestly don't really remember. I mean, the food was good, the tokens for the arcades were awesome, in fact, though the animatronics were a bit off-putting, the only terrifying memories I have of that place is the mascot.

Oh sweet Motha that mascot was terrifying.

Every time he would come out in that creepy costume, I would get this feeling of dread, like your stomach has just dropped, and do my best to avoid him for the entire time I and my family were there.

I guess that Scott also kinda played on those fears with Purple Guy and the five/six/whatever kids, with him dressing up in a suit and all.

I swear, I would happily go back to Chuck E Cheese if they've gotten rid of that creepy mascot dude.

Well I never went to them very often... I remember one time me and my friend went along with one of the Emsachick crew. The Emsachick crew member was playing a game until someone in a freaking Chuck suit came up behind her and asked "What are you playing?" Now Lily (crew members name) panicked and the mouse asked her to follow him (I was there witnessing this) apparently you followed the mouse and got free tickets But I remember me and Lily along with about 4 other kids followed him to the front of the restraunt... Scary as heck

In kindergarten (1983 or '84) I got a Valentine card from a classmate and it had two tokens inside. I pestered my folks until they took me to that magical place where I could use the tokens (the chain was fairly new at the time, especially to our area), and I distinctly remember using all my prize tickets on super-hi-bouncy balls. I also remember going down the curly slide that dumped into the ball pit, but another kid was crawling up the slide and we really cracked heads.

Robots have always fascinated me so as a kid I'd watch their shows, and I remember a character (I think it was Chuck himself) on a separate stage who would perform if you'd feed some tokens into the box.

In grade school, my siblings and I would take our report cards in and get free tokens at the CEC near our cousins', and that was honestly a huge motivator to get good grades, because my mom would not pay money for additional tokens. X)

I still love the place and take my kids there fairly often. I wish I'd known about Showbiz Pizza but we didn't have one nearby so I didn't know they existed.

That's the "road show." Sometimes the mascot even has a sign that says "follow me for free tickets."

Oh well I didn't know what it was called at the time. I remember one time I went and spent the entire time at my friends birthday (Different friend) watching the animatronic show. I remember looking at my friend who we will call Cookie and she was begging me to go play games with her. Since I was little I was fascinated with AI and technology along with animals.

I had a nightmare where the purple furry guy kidnapping a girl, ran out of the building, and fell to the sky.

I think I predicted Freddy's lore well.

My mother took us there so often the animatronics felt like friends at times.

They sort of unnerved me at other times, I remember creeping close to poke Chuck E's leg and being surprised at how solid it was.

I also remember when they used to hide the Chuck E animatronic behind a curtain when the mascot costume was on the show floor. I remember thinking I was so smart when I peeked behind the curtain and confirmed that the animatronic was still there.

I was scared of the animatronics cause I thought they would come to life at night and eat me. I was only 4

My feelings on animatronics always seemed to start with terror, then hate, then indifference, then adoration.

There was a huge animatronic T-Rex at our science musuem and it scared the devil out of me. It wasn't until after several visits that I grew to adore it.

I remember the same thing at our museum... I honestly loved it though...

what memories do i have...well theres nothing really interesting about my times a Chuck E Cheese's, besides the first time i had ever gone there I thought it was chuckie from that horror movie and he was there to murder us all, only to discover that it was just a band of animatronics. I was only around the age of six, so yeah....

The only memory I can remember is when I was like, 5 or 6 years old, I went to Chuck E. Cheese. And I used to be afraid of the animatronics and Chuck E. himself. I used to think they will come alive and hurt me.

Nothing because I am British and we don't have that sort of stuff. The closest thing I could probably get to it is the gigantic puppet parade I saw in Liverpool once. That was terrifying af.

The only thing I remember is the Chuck E mascot dude in the suit (totally not triggering flashbacks of springlock suits) stepping on my toes so much I just stuck to watching the animatonics alone at a table. then I started crying because I was a shy child that was very scared of very bright and people-filled places. The tokens were meaningless to me so I gave them to a friend not realising that's how you get onto the arcades to get points so I was salty when my friend got a prize out of the points. And that's what I got out of that place. But another firend is trying to invite me to it for a FNaF party...
