Abyssal Forge Side Area

I can't seem to get to a side area on the way to the boss, it's obvious you need to use Soul Splitter but you can't reach the chest. Maybe it's a bug and you need to go there before beating the boss. Did anyone else encounter this ?

if its the place im thinking of you have to swim up above the water first and open the door in front of where u initially use soul splitter and then go from there

The place I mentioned is not along the main path, seems to be an optional side area that contains a legendary weapon. It's at the very end of the DLC near the boss chamber.
