Report a translation problem
You can see the puzzle I'm talking about at the 4:00 minute mark. The only difference is, the portal doesn't shoot me across that room, it just drops me a few feet in front of the portal after dropping down. It even pans out like I'm supposed to be shooting across too, but it doesn't do it.
so the two things that you bring down with the soul split have both down with purple and green death then save relog and it should be open so just portal onto it and done solved
A trigger can do something like remove an invisible barrier or have your character perform a special cutscene manoeuvrer after you've completed an objective/puzzle for example.
In your case it sounds like the trigger for fully launching your character wasn't working correctly.
