Not recieving Reaper Energy

I've been playing the game for a while and loving it, however, since I first activated Reaper form I have not gained ANY Reaper energy thus far.

I've done the research and found you gain Reaper energy from attacking enemies with scythes and killing enemies with scythes; however my Reaper energy bar has not filled up one iota in the past 3 hours I've been playing.

Is there any way to resolve this issue?

Yeah u have to do certain combos that use the reaper as a combo finisher thats the only way to build reaper energy.... hope that helps

Well, I have been spamming those combos a lot as well (mostly X-X-pause-X-X-X) and my reaper energy still has not increased. So, no, that is not the problem.

I know it doesn't really help you but I personally didn't find Reaper to be that useful, at least on Normal. I might have been just spoiled by Chaos mode in DS 1 though. Chaos mode was a win button, completely invincible and high damage. Being able to be hurt in Reaper mode kinda turned me off on it.

Okay, I'm going to update this since I solved it. It appears that a simple uninstall/reinstall fixed the issue, as I started very slowly recieving Reaper energy recently.
I then received the Grim amulet, which exponentially increased how much energy I recieved.
