Darksiders 2: The longest tedious journey I've ever taken [rant/rage, discuss if you'd like]
I mean COME ON! Every time I feel like I'm closer to getting somewhere, "You need to get 3 Hearts... You need 3 Stones... P.S. it's all EXTREMELY spaced out so it takes 1 hour for one thing..." -- OK, i get it, games would be boring if they were short, but my god it's lots of walking and running and climbing. Not enough puzzle solving to justify all the complexity. Alice: Madness Returns is a prime example of how to make a puzzle platformer. It's not the BEST game in the world, but there's always a puzzle to solve, not the 1000 miles of running. I hate this game, i feel forced to finish it because i never give up but it's taken me too long because of how BORED i am. Anyone agree?????

The begining of the game is spaced out and it does take time to get the tasks done, but as you near the end game content it tightens up. My main complaint is with the last two boss fights... the second to last boss was a great fight, requiring me to play him several times to get what I had to do in order to beat him. The last boss was... well... easy.

always wondered what fighting samael would be like.
now i regret ever letting the curiosity cross my mind.

LMAO. seriously... this game was so boring, i just watched the cutscenes on youtube just to see the story and get it over with. No wonder there will never be a 3rd. I wouldn't play it.

I was having the same trouble all through the Abyssal plains. Ugh. It got so annoying that I quit the game for a week, played Antichamber, then got back to this JUST so I could have a break from all the "collect 3" random bull quests. I know that 3's are a theme here, but COME ON!

If they were gonna do that over and over again, they should have made each individual item or whatever closer, not 4-5 hours of gameplay apart. I mean I'm at 22 hrs and 12 minutes of game play... it took me months to get to that point because of how bored i got at times. I finished the first one in a couple weeks with such a sense of satisfaction and the ability to move on to another game and say "Goal accomplished, time for the next game..." But no. I'm forced to play for far too long being bored. lol. IF the game was super exciting and engaging... those 22 hrs would have felt like a couple days and i would be so upset it would almost be over. Ya kNow? i'm glad someone agrees ... haha

Samiel on Apocaliptic = good times XD

I enjoyed the game, granted I got borded with it too and set it down for a while after getting lost in the Dead City while looking for the commanders.

But once I know what I was doing, the 2nd play through took about 22 hours and it was a blast. I was not wasting time on hunting pointless mobs/getting lost... instead I focused on the extra missions like the bloodless. I actually had more fun after beating the game playing in hard mode.

That plus, Samiel on hard mode was just a blast for me. I wish they had more Samiel style boss fights.

I just switched the game on for the first time in months. I'm on the way to find Samael and I am sure the game is just leading me round in circle for the sake of it. I was stuck on one stupid part for a while and kept quitting. Just put it back on again and got past the bit I was stuck on, only to get stuck less than a half mile from where I was. So I sent dust out to find a path. Yeah nice, lets jump throught that same warp gate in/out/in/out/shake it all about, do the okey kokey and then stuff Dust with a packet of Paxo for all the worth he is. I love these platform puzzlers but, really??

Being Death has never been so boring in my life. He's not even got the wit and charm of Death from Pratchett's Disc World. Still not completed it and really quite disappointed. Not one to use walkthroughs I am just sacking it off. Knew as soon as I turned this game on and they mis-named the other two horseman (fury and strife???? Really?) that this was going to be a loser. Such a shame. Great potential mired by stupid level design, illogical puzzels and circles that don't need to well trodden. Not even touched the DLC which I can only imagine to be a master of bending the rules of physics by sucking and blowing at the same time!

actually, I did not think the puzzles were that hard... the only part that may have you stuck would be Spoiler: There is a part where you have to use your split soul ability and throw a bomb to your shadow soul through a portal. Then blow up the yellow growth and open a key chest The part I wasted the most time in was trying to find the exit to the Psychameron's keep (have to use fast travel to get out) which I tought was a lazy design choice.

I'm so angry right now. I just finished gathering the 3 dead lords and my game just got glitched after talking to the lord of the dead. I can't save nor can I fast travel. I even looked on the official forum and there's no actual solution to it yet. The worst part is I can't even enter the city of the dead. -_- I have no choice but to restart the game.

Darksider II is way better than Alice: Madness returns...

And remember THQ is dead now, they didn't have that much money when making the game...

I guess my biggest issue with the game was just how hard the creators tried to make the game everything the first one couldn't be. Which in many ways i respect. Where it falls short is how it looks like they lost track of what they wanted to do with the game and just kept adding and adding and adding. Most it if sounds pretentious and over done; the voices of almost every character is this DRAAAAWWNNN out droning of words... EVERY character doesn't need to spend 30 seconds on every word. The Guardian i understand. They also included every realm possible. It's like they knew the company was going under and rather than only giving Death enough for HIS storyline. I love RPGs, so the rpg aspect of this game didn't bother me. However, It wasn't an RPG. It was a linear action-adventure game. Why make it overly complicated with 10,000 items, most of which were useless since all you really needed was DPS gear and you can get through any boss in a matter of minutes. Ugh... I just really hate this game. lmao. and what's worse I STILL CAN'T BRING MYSELF TO FINISH IT LOL.

This game is actually fairly good imo!

The RPG aspects are really good, lots of cool loot and a really good skill tree.

The voice acting could have been better, but it wasn't that bad, the manuscript itself were reeeally bad though. Imo Death would have been way more badass if they had made him a bit more cocky.

The boss fights are really good, you can finish them in a matter of minutes? You're supposed to finish them in a matter of minutes -.- Let's say the boss fight would be 10 minutes long, they would be so boring and if you lose you have to restart 10 f**king minutes of gameplay which would be incredibly boring.

Some of the sidequests were really epic and it was like infiltrate this temple, kill this enemies, parkour over here, do some short puzzles battle som more guys, meet a boss and kill him and get lots of loot. That's how the main quests are. The game isn't that bad, it's just that THQ didn't have enough money at the time to make a real f**king epic game, so instead they took some money from what they didn't think was that important, like the story, the quests and the world. They laid more money on the upgrade/progession system, the combat and the loot.

I agree with you in some aspects, this is the most repititive game I've ever played, it does have a really bad story and they have failed so huge with the puzzles. But still this game is better than the first one. ''This game is not an RPG''? Ofc it is, it is a very linear RPG with huge flaws, but it is still a fairly good game...

The game feels rushed and all, but this is really a great game for if you think of how little money they had when making the game...
