Why there's even a limit for save file size I do not know.
Because nobody will ever need more than 300K...
Thankfully the manual steps are provided so we can still apply the fix, it will just be harder to do (Unless someone makes a new EXE with an updated CRC checker).
This fix took me 2 minutes including the installation of Hex editor, made the changes and was able to play and pass the 600KB limit.
My heartfelt thanks for all those involoved in working it out even before the Devs did.
Just FYI:
When I finished the game and chose to replay as my lvl 22 character at Nightmare mode the save file was reset to 100KB. This did not include anything I had collected along the way only my weapons and armor...and the Crucible passes.
If you read my post and you're having crashes before the 600KB size (more like the 300KB size) turn off antialiasing.
If you get to fight Belial and can't figure out why you cannot hit the blue circular target because the reticle/camera is all over the place try dropping your aim sensitivity to about 10% in your options/settings.
Belial is the most annoying boss in the whole game I can safely attribute 80 deaths to his hands :( before I realised what I was doing wrong.
It always crashed for me at the same scene; afterwards I realized that it wasn't the scene but saving itself to cause the crash. When I found the solution, I tried it out although hex editing the .exe seemed a bit stary first. Tried again and got past the fight that had crashed my game numerous times before. :)
Even though this game is now considered obsolete by the devs, this thread deservers to be sticky as quite a number of people who still play this version will encounter when they want to go for the sidequests.
that what i have - https://prnt.sc/ll7f6p
If that offset is missing (which it seems it is) than are you playing the original Darksiders 2 or Deathinitive Edition? Deathinitive Edition doesn't need this fix.
Edit: After a closer look at your screenshot you're trying to edit the Deathinitive Edition which doesn't need this fix.
