save file backup
as most of you already know this game only lets you have one single solitary save file, so i realized thats gonna be a problem for me when i want to go back and do the crucible after beating the game on newgame+

so i wanted to copy+paste my save file in a folder to backup my save before beating the game on apocolypic so i can beat the game for the achivement, then load up the back up file to change the difficulty to easy to do the crucible...

im already on my newgame+ so once i beat the game a second time, the one single solitary save file that you get to have in this game won't offer me an option to load up the game and do the crucible, so i don't see any other way to go about this...

it looks like there are save files in both:
documents/my games/darksiders 2/
steam/userdata/50650/

does anyone know, do i have to back up and replace the files in both directories to accomplish this. are there more locations? does doing this work?

The game has cloud saving, doesn't it? It certainly seems to be syncing whenever I shut the game down

yeah i think it does, so i would probably have to disable cloud saving in order to do this? i dunno thats kinda what im trying to ask... thanks for the contribution though, you reminded me about the cloud

Have you thought about just doing the Crucible before the final boss instead? That's where I did it the first time went 100% completion on the ps3. Did it on apoclyptic, and as long as you have decent possessed weapons and you've spent the stonebites right it's not hard.
The 1st slot are these 2 files:
dssave0.dsav
dssave4.dsav

The 2nd slot are these 2 files:
dssave1.dsav
dssave5.dsav

The 3rd slot are these 2 files:
dssave2.dsav
dssave6.dsav

The 4th slot are these 2 files:
dssave3.dsav
dssave7.dsav

If you want to save a slot just the way it is, just back up those 2 files.

If you want to clone your first save slot to your second slot:
1. copy dssave0.dsav & dssave4.dsav to your desktop.
2. rename them to dssave1.dsav & dssave5.dsav.
3. put them back into your documents save file.

this is exactly the kind of advice i was looking for, thank you. so i can just clone my save file before i finish the game, then load up from slot 2 when i want to do the crucible...

thanks again for the advice.
