Is this like Dark Souls but for casual gamers?

I played it awhile ago on the consoles, and it's more like God of War, Ninja Gaiden, and Devil May Cry but with pretty heavy RPG aspects (Death, the main character, has physical stats, customizable gear, talismans, magic, etc.). It's not like Dark Souls whatsoever.

I ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ hate it when people compare "game with sword and slashing" 's combat with Dark Souls's combat. Since when Dark Souls is the core combat for all game and every games must follow its formula? Not to mention Dark Souls has nothing in common with pretty much every games out there. Okay we get it, it's a "OMG BEST GAME EVAR!!". But, I mean, seriously -_-

It's not Darksiders and Darksiders is not Dark Souls, just stop comparing games and I'm sure you will enjoy it. If you play a game with a mind "damn this game is not Dark Souls", then you will most likely abandon it midway.
Of course that's your choice, though I must admit this game is not really hard, but hard enough if you play on hardest difficult.

Darksiders 2 isn't rpg, it's hack'n'slash/action/adventure. Slight itemization and character customization still isn't enough to make a game rpg, by that definition CoD, DMC, and almost every other game would be rpg too. The theme is also completely different.
