Question about death
Hey, i've been unable to play the demo right now but as a big Elder scrolls fan that has recently gotten addicted to some of the old ES games (notably: daggerfall) i was wondering how the deaths work? I saw it has permadeath but if it's anything like daggerfall and other oldschool rpg's you'll die a LOT before you start not dying. How is it going to work in this game?

I reached the part where "I need to stay alive as long as I can" (demo ending I think), and it only took me like 6 or 7 deaths before I figured out how to not die. Dunno about the alpha version or how the full version will be.

The game is about one thing:
If you only have one life to live, what will you do with it?

There are many things to pursue in the game: wealth, politics, power.
But unlike Elder Scroll, and just like real life, you only have so much time before you die of natural causes.

This means the game isn't about "do all the content", but instead about:
"Can I become head of the Conclave in this life?"
"Can I overthrow the conclave in this life?"
"Can I have a meaningful family and pursue power in one life?"
"How many 'wins' can I accomplish in one life?"

Once you die, that is it. Start another life in the same world (not continuous) or another world.

Learning the various systems, seeing how they interrelate, finding opportunities and seizing on them, making permanent choices is what the game is all about.

And when you die, you get your funeral. Where friends, family, acquaintances, even kings or dignitaries if you are famous enough, will speak about you.

The whole world responds to everything you do, how you behave. The funeral is where you really find out what people think of you and your accomplishments (or lack thereof).

So death is a very important and unique aspect of the game.

The demo has only a tiny bit of a funeral in it. The real stuff is coming.
The demo doesn't have dying of old age, we didn't get to it yet.
