Stuck in The Black Throne puzzle (3 beams to free Azrael, I'm at the third)

Hi, I'm stuck in a room where I have to move the beam to the next chamber, in order to do that I need to place portals on the platform as shown on the screenshot below, and then hit the side of the platform with the swoard.
My problem is that, the swoard is always RED when it should be BLUE/WHITE to be hitable, I can't hit it when it's on RED all the time.
It's supposed to be blue/white and it was, but I was stuck there so I quit and came back later, when I then loaded my savegame there suddenly the icon on the platform was unhitable, so it is impossible to solve this puzzle.
I really dislike many of the puzzles as they seem so far-fetched and just not logical, it's like the devs spent too much time on art and too little on puzzles...

I cannot say what's going on because this screenshot seems to be weird. Something is missing.

Hi thanks for trying to help and post a possible solution, however as you can see in this video:

The person uses his throwing blade to activate the pilar's rotation system, only as seen in the screenshot I cant activate this movement because it's blocked by the red aura :/ gg darksiders

I've made 4 more screenshots of the map with the puzzle in it, and screenshots of the pillar with the mark on it that has the red outline, preventing it from triggering the rotation mechanism.

At Darksiders I am soon in this part. So I will give you friend request and I will see what I have done and I will show screenshots. I know, you followed the video but I have no idea what to say because that's the weirdest thing I heard in this game. A bug that just wont let you move forward

Excuse me, BOnesaw, I know this post is almost two years old but the exact same glitch just happened to me.
I'm just wondering if you managed to fix it or if you had to restart the entire game?

Hi seanskeen, unfortunately I couldn't find a fix and I quit Darksiders, I didn't get a useful response on different forums either, even from the devs :<

I hope you have a savegame from an earlier point or something, else I think you need to restart the whole game :(

Thanks for responding so fast.
I do have an earlier save file but is from so early that I might as well restart the whole thing.
I think I'll give the game another chance later on, but the idea of replaying everything again is too much right now.
I WAS SO CLOSE TO GETTING THE ABYSSAL ARMOR!!!!

Same thing here with the same switch. F.E.A.R. has a similar issue about fifteen minutes away from the ending. Reinstalled, repaired, you name it- always happens in the same spot. :-(
