If K escapes, can he be found again?

I was fighting him in the Sweltering Lands and I transformed but he escaped. Does he reappear in the same place?

There are a handful of specific places where he appears and they are predetermined. At each location, he escapes when you beat him in battle. There is no big boss fight or anything like that where you take him down permanently. He is just an in-joke from the developers.
