Replay with Abyssal Armor

Is there a trick I'm missing to being able to start a new game (say, on Apocalyptic difficulty) while wearing the Armor? One comment I read said you have to complete the game with the armor from before you get the 10th piece all in one session, and then start your new game without quitting. Is this so? Alternately, is there a hack for the "abyssal yes/no" flag in the game that would let me get around this onus, seeing as how I don't have a convenient savegame to load to play the final 2 hours from, even if I wanted to?

no hack, just play the game get all the parts and you can play the new game with the armour i did...

Yeah, I did that. Played through on normal, got the armor, got the accolade for the armor, beat the boss. Then exited, and came back a couple days later to start a new game, but no armor option. Even retried from my last save just before the final boss, with armor, and then started a new game immediately without exiting. I'm still not getting an option anywhere to start a new game with the armor. What I haven't tried, because I really don't want to play though yet again, is going back to before completing the armor (which would be waaay before, sadly), and finishing all in one go without saving and exiting. I'm hoping someone has insight on why this might be happening, and if there is a way short of blowing through the game as fast as I can on easy so I can play yet a third time on Apocalyptic to make it work.

Only way to get the armor for a new game is completing the armor, beating the game and starting a new game during the same session. The reason is that the value that indicates that you completed the armor is reset when you exit the game but doesn't get changed back when you load a game with the complete armor equipped (a bug no one cared to fix)
There is no fast way to go through the game without cheating. (But since you simply want to rush through the same stuff again you already did there is no shame in it)
Your best bet is to save the last piece of armor until you want to beat the boss. Make a save in front of the chest. Then you can reload and only need to get the last piece and beat the boss.

Thanks for the detailed response, Papaya! I've picked up and "fixed" a savegame that should suit my needs. At least the final boss is a breeze on Normal :D

i have a question tho, if you begin a new game with abyssal armor equipped then it will be no abyssal armor pieces chest or it will be and you can collect them again with abyssal armor on you already or it will be another thing in them like souls or other bonuses?
