Game breaking glitch... Black Throne First Guardian

Anybody know a way to beat the big robot with the wreaking ball when you can't lay down a portal with the Voidwalker?! First time through I was able to lay down a charged portal next to him, then another portal on another pad so I could get on top of him and hit "B" to stun but after I did it once I couldn't lay down another portal. EVER. I've rebooted the game, my PC, started with a different save but nothing...

Any ideas would be appreciated!

Ok I had a problem like that the first time I played, I had my portals open but I never wen high enough on the air to land on his head. When you make your portal, remember to hold your button long enought to make a full portal, meaning when you enter the portal, you will fly upward in the air higher, and thus use your wings to glide on his head and making the blow, while the boss is stuck with his hammer on the floor.

Thanks for the reply, but the issue is that I can't open portals. full stop. they work until the boss fight starts then I can't open another portal. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling but I get the same result. I grabbed some save files but I only want to skip past where I'm stuck not skip to the end of the game so that sucks. I've even tried downloading a trainer but I can't find one that isn't flagged as a virus that I can download. At this point I'm just giving up on the game and moving on.

Well I figured it out... apparently I'm an idiot!
You can't lay down a portal when targeting an enemy, as soon as the boss appears I would target and just couldn't figure out why the portals wouldn't work. Not a glitch a FEATURE!
