Darksiders: Warmaster Edition. Is it worth buying/playing?
Hi Guys,

As you know there is going to be a Darksiders Warmaster Edition coming out on October 25th or so with improved textures, shadow rendering and so on.

Apart from that will it be worth buying and playing? I have played Darksider 2 and 3/4 of finishing Darksider.

I would buy/purchase Darksiders: Warmaster Edition if

(1) There would be more weapons upgrade in the game
(2) Better or different gameplay styles
(3) If you could choose the storyline and friends/enemies (just like in Thief: Deadly shadows you can choose the factions between pagans and hammerites)
(4) Have a co-op mode where people can join in
(5) Include a multiplayer mode where you can battle your friends and foes in an arena like in Darksider 2 where you have the Crucible and battle

What are your thoughts? Thanks

None of those will happen. This is an upressed/texture re-do, not a bump in content.
However, it might be free to the people who own the original.

Thanks. What is the point of a improved texture/shadow rendering? Why are companies and people wasting time and money just for a retexturing. I do understand if someone has not played the original Darksider and has a good high end spec PC.

I rather go buy black paint instead, paint my room black and call it Darksider 3. I would suggest to the developers that they release it as Darksiders: Warmaster Special Edition and add a few more things like side missions or a DLC.

It's mostly to get the game playable on new consoles, but they're also doing the PC remaster because it really is very little extra work for all the extra revenue they'll get out of it.

Ideally it's free to current owners, but it'll at least be heavily discounted like the DS2 remaster was (80% on launch for previous owners). If we do have to pay, I honestly suggest doing so, specifically for the sake of increasing the chances of a Darksiders 3 happening just that little bit more.

The reason they're doing this at all is to raise funds and awareness of a possible sequel. So, if we have to, please vote with your wallets, folks.

The game is not worth buying unless they add aditional content I would suggest buying the ps3 or xbox/360? version as the steam version I am playing has a ton of problems with the achievments actually registering after completing the objectives. I have obtained pretty much every collectable item in the game and it refuses to give the achievments life bar/wrath core/artifacts etc. Unless you can't live without improved textures, shadow rendering and so on I would save your money if I was you and buy the older copy of the game since it is highly unlikely they will add extra content for game play such as side quests story "more places to go with the horse" these things would be nice.

Exactly, it's easy money. It's rather sad and pathetic, but so is much of what the gaming industry does these days. If it's not free for current PC owners then fine, I won't be repurchasing what is more or less the exact same game you can have on the PC already. They did give out the rerelease of Darksiders II for free, so this should be free for current owners as well. Hopefully.

They need to raise money and gauge interest for a sequel. This is how they do that.

Honestly you're just better off with the original. The remaster of 2 hurt performance significantlyand some of the new lighting and textures clashes with the art style. All honesty I have no high expectations with this rerelease.

I agree with you guys. I finally finished Darksider and need to go back for as I have the Tremor Gauntlet where I could not go earlier. This game runs perfectly and the remaster may have performance issues running on the machines. It may be good for someone who has a high end machine with a high specs.

Now having played both Darksider 1 and 2 which is awesome, I do prefer the original Darksider to the second one and would give it an extra stars or credit than the second one.
