Shop Heroes

Shop Heroes

about this game and S&P 2
So I used to play S&P 2 along time ago and found out that it no longer exists. anyone fully understand what exactly happened to edgebee studios? bankruptcy? simply moved on? what? i can't seem to find any info other then their goodbye message. So after finding out that game no longer existed I came across this game. However upon closer examination it seems that there is auction house 48 hour locking after purchases and a lack of communication on various fronts of the game from what I read. is this game worth getting into? thanks to anyone who takes the time to answer this, i appreciate it!

It's still a decent craft and unlock game, however lately patches other than the packs seem to be mostly focussed on trying to shoehorn in more of a competitive aspect and not too well thought out attempts to make life more difficult for cheaters/scammers than things like long requested by players QoL fixes etc. The 48 hour lockout (not communicated at all in-game) is for first purchase on steam only. I guess Steam Wallet has worse fraud protection than the Google/Apple/Facebook/Kong wallets... ;-| (I guess something like scammers doing a creditcard steam purchase in-game on a fodder account, use that to funnel some items onto another Shop Heroes account, chargeback the credit card and let the account get banned for fraud while still having the items on the other account. I guess the lockout puts them past the point of chargeback?)

I was playing both Shop Titans and Shop Heroes. I will not compare two games bc, even though their root/inspiration are the same, the mechanics are totally different and you know when actually play it. However, I can compare the quality of service.

Shop heroes:
- Asking for feedback but rarely implement or explain why.
- Rarely reply a question in their forum, where they are most active
- Abandon steam forum. Tbh, they should pay Shiroe for his great service to steam community. It is a shame that they put zero effort in steam service despite it is the most stable and arguably most popular platform of their game.
- Most updates are not what ppl asked/commented
- Most updates are, in particular recently, involved with packs and spending money.
- Most updates are repetitive and not well thought of, kind of a student coping their last year report to submit to the teacher just to get a grade.
- Patch note is very lazy, unexplained work like: "minor fixed"
- The game has many unfinished updates like many building don't have their 3rd worker/heroes yet, but only heroes we get after the Canadian team left is 40 USD heroic packs.
- Arena/raid rewards are outdated but never been changed.
- Their current programmer team seems incompetent as most things have to be done manually. They might not even be able to modify or edit codes of the former team.
- They once deleted/banned unofficial data spreadsheet made by Shiroe and other players, only undo it after players contested

On the other hand, Shop Titans:

- They opened their own reddit/discord for players to hang out and leave feedback.
- They answer and explain why behind the updates.
- They actually implement what ppl asked, lower the price of pack that ppl found overpriced.
- Quite responsible in releasing patch note, very detail one. Actually, I cannot understand their patch note on the 1st time. After a while, I came back to read again and found that they edited their patch note to be more detail and understandable. I was quite impressed in their hard work.
- Most updates are f2p. They even nerfed purchased pack bc they think it gives too much advantage to paid players.
- They even made the official data spreadsheet for ppl to freely use and get accurate info of the game.
- They even removed chest bps and put them on the normal bp line. Thus, removing RNG that some ppl hate.

To me, it feels like SH became fully business that 99% just want to drain money out of players, while Shop Titans is like 50% business and 50% game developer that still wants to make a fun game. Shop Titans has its flaw and complain, but it is at least lesser evil compared to Shop Heroes, imho. Both are the great games themselves and I tend to think Shop Heroes has more depth and a favorite system like gear's skills. Unfortunately, their quality of service turned me off to the point that I just quit the game. I don't want to support CC that looks at a player as a cash cow only, asking to buy more and more packs without actually working hard to improve/extend the game. It is the greatest insult to players who buy and support the game.

Not even remotely close. They have more Android users by far. The Steam version also came a year later.

As far as Shop Titans goes, I play both and I can tell you the differences are not "completely different". In fact, in some examples, they feel so much the same, they feel almost directly copied. I don't care either way, but since both are free to play, you can just try both of them and see for yourself. You'll get the feel for them fairly quickly. On short term, you're probably better off playing Shop Titans, since that game is new and new games always have a better development roadmap at first.

not to mention there is certain quality of life things better in shop titans like oh is a craft being made atm you can tell without having to back out of the crafts window just to see

also that heroes don't just suddenly forget how to quest all together and fail to rats
