Yes there are chances of a new game. THQ Nordic bought the IP from Stainless 2 and a half years ago, they've not done anything with it yet but they wouldn't have spent so much money to own it if they weren't going to do anything with it so it's just a matter of time.
There's always a chance someone will make a game inspired by Carmageddon. Hopefully it will be more inspired by Carmageddon than Clutch was. Clutch seemed like it was inspired by the worst, least carmageddon-like bits of TDR2000 which itself was already inspired by the least carmageddon-like parts of the first two. Less of a bland sersious-business zombie apocalypse, please, and more oddball characterful python-esque slapstick hilarity.
Somehow I enjoyed Clutch a lot more than Carmageddon TDR 2000, though...
According to the website they have two games in development, one VR game and one collectible card game which no doubt is putting their many years experience creating the Magic The Gathering games to good use.
I've not talked to Nobby for a while, but I assume he's still working and hasn't retired again (he had come out of retirement to work on Carmageddon 10 years ago). Batwick is still the company's CEO, he's probably more involved in the management side than the actual development side these days.
Any way, this is the first thing I have seen about the Carma series in a LONG time.....

Pixillated graphics just like the DOS version in 1997.
