Yes there are chances of a new game. THQ Nordic bought the IP from Stainless 2 and a half years ago, they've not done anything with it yet but they wouldn't have spent so much money to own it if they weren't going to do anything with it so it's just a matter of time.

There's always a chance someone will make a game inspired by Carmageddon. Hopefully it will be more inspired by Carmageddon than Clutch was. Clutch seemed like it was inspired by the worst, least carmageddon-like bits of TDR2000 which itself was already inspired by the least carmageddon-like parts of the first two. Less of a bland sersious-business zombie apocalypse, please, and more oddball characterful python-esque slapstick hilarity.

Well, finger crossed then!

Somehow I enjoyed Clutch a lot more than Carmageddon TDR 2000, though...

What happened to Nobby and Batwick? Are they still making games?

Stainless are still making games. They released Shockrods the other year, which is a Quake 3/Unreal Tournament styled arena shooter with omni-directional wheeled vehicles, it didn't get much traction on Steam but apparently it's quite successful on Apple Arcade.

According to the website they have two games in development, one VR game and one collectible card game which no doubt is putting their many years experience creating the Magic The Gathering games to good use.

I've not talked to Nobby for a while, but I assume he's still working and hasn't retired again (he had come out of retirement to work on Carmageddon 10 years ago). Batwick is still the company's CEO, he's probably more involved in the management side than the actual development side these days.

Let's hope that THQ will revive this brand sooner or later. Maybe using Wreckfest destruction physics..

Recently THQ N has melded Carmageddon with Wreckfest . There are 2 of the old Carma tracks (Bleak City and a Desert track) that were added and the Eagle R is available to win ( 100,000 "fame points" to purchase it) in the Tournament.
Any way, this is the first thing I have seen about the Carma series in a LONG time.....

Pixillated graphics just like the DOS version in 1997.

If they did make a new Carmageddon game would they be allowed to use the Snakey Bastard, Crazor or Tropikill as vehicles or use Nutkenz,Roman or Twig and Berry as characters or would they have to get permission from the $10000 Kickstartrer backers who designed the vehicles and created the drivers for them
