Multiplayer was DOA in this game.....
Yeah, had a feeling that was the case but, figured I would see anyway :)
long story short just join this group and ask for people to play
but yeah you had to join carmageddon groups to play online since the beginning
we had awesome sessions anyways ;)

I pretty much love any sort of game with destruction or car combat of any sort :D
However, I did fire up a New Game a couple of weeks ago and went through the whole thing with Die-Anna and her Iron Hawk (first time was with Max and the classic Eagle, of course).
Spent my Christmas time-off getting 100% completion, and unlocking the Subpressor and the Super Duper Supressor at the UFO Crash Site (MAN that thing is tough!).
Then I went back through the earlier levels with the toughest vehicles and mowed everyone down like puppies in a famine. Revenge is a dish best served with salt and vinegar.
Lol... You must've been playing WoW with me then. I quit playing it after Wrath of the Lich King because that's exactly what happened afterwards.
Yeah, I can understand where you're coming from, I run into that periodically but not always.
Peak today: 50

No drop in Multiplayer ( who wants to wait an hour to join a game in progeress? )
+
No bots to fill the lobby (while MAYBE a human joins you )
+
No Peds ( yeah, for all the "reasons" we were told)
=
DOA online.
This game is quite frankly boring online unless you can get 6 players together to play it.
The mere fact that the Peds are missing takes away the fun for me- Carmageddon without Peds being splattered and the resulting mess on the roadway is a huge take-away for online play, in my opinion.
I have never seen more than 2 other players in this game online. Reincarnation had more multiplayer activity than Max Damage, and it was stillborn online as well.
Sad but true.
Perhaps things could have been done differently and better.
It's a moot point now.
This game could have / should have/ might have......but it just didn't.
Maybe in a future iteration of Carmageddon ( THQ Nordic has this now) the issues that killed this game for multiplayer can be addressed and we will meet in lobbies, say "Hello" ,
and then ......
KILL EACH OTHER !
Cheers and good gaming......
