Foundation height question.

is there a way to make foundations snap lower than the other ones that it can snap to?

This was changed, it uses the toggle next to the foundation buttons and it will be changed again in the next update (sigh). Also note that If the foundation is too high it will be red blocked.

what about flat foundations? Like right on the ground... It seems like once you place one, you cannot join other flat foundations to it, or rather, in my example, i want full height foundations surrounding one flat to the ground foundation.... the flat on will only go as low as half height
