It's not really a MOBA though, be aware that there are no lanes or anything like that. It's more of a top down fighting game, though it also isn't really a fighting game.
Well, the game itself is fun but you'll soon find out this is competitive as ****. Yeah, you can play casual and still have fun, however you might find it boring after a while; you'll challenge yourself in ranked and things can go really bad (rage, frustration etc).
The learning curve is pretty steep, I find it way harder than LoL (information won't take you too far), depends on your perseverance/skill.
Ah, characters are far from having insteresting background or identity (compared to LoL).
No autistic PVE farm.
No overextended matches that keep you prisoner.
No snowballing.
No point and click abilities, skillshots only.
No shop and in-match progression. Each champion has unique customizable set of "masteries" though.
In terms of lore and backstory it's not as interesting as LoL though but I'd say that all champions are memorable enough and have some personality.
Gameplay-wise champions here are much more versatile and homogenized so you aren't limited by roles and team comp as much as in other MOBAs.
As for learning curve, game is pretty transparent so you don't have to rely on memorizing tons of counter-intuitive garbage (aka META).
And if you know that you have lost in league of legends and you try to ff at 20, then you realise, that your team is france and they will never give up. Best trolls. Then you have to play 80 minutes for a loose. What a waste of lifetime. Thats why I left LoL and start playing Battlerite.
I pretty much only play melee or support. I've played quite a few matches as Jumong and Ezmo too and melee just feels better to me. Would rather play against ranged than a shifu or fretya any day as well XD
Only times ranged feel oppressive to me is when your team let's themselves get zoned.
IMHO they balanced melee vs range pretty well.
Ur moder gey
The most important thing here is how to play, not if you are fed, or which champ you play, or ♥♥♥♥ you buy.
Game is amazing if you take the grasp, but can be boring due being extremely repititive
But the game gameplay is much closer to an action MMORPG arena than to a MOBA.
