U SHOULD READ THIS BEFORE U BUY TWITCH EXCLUSIVE BPL CHESTS

So I go to Twitch to buy a couple Pro-League chests & I'm prettyyyy p!$$#% about this s%^#
(& it goes further than me just being salty about some unlucky drops)

The chests, for $5 EACH, don't guarantee anything past ONE BPL themed costume, weapon or pose! They should either guarantee a BPL costume or 3 BPL items.

I understand they want people to buy more chests but this is not the way to do it.
Who's going to want to buy another chest after getting 1 weapon or pose for a champ they may or may not play & 2 duplicates? No one in their ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ right mind with limited expendable income.
Now, if they guaranteed that all the drops were BPL exclusive items then collector types would be incentivized to buy multiple chests to complete their sets & people who are vying for one specific item could at least have somewhat decent odds of getting it without spending their entire check.


The product description is: "Chest containing unique Battlerite Pro League outfits, weapons and poses." I dont if this language is intentionally misleading but they need to include the chest-specific details that the in-game CHEST INFO tab uses.
(Or at the VERY LEAST, while they're available they should have the pro-league chests be viewable in the client for the Chest Info. It's not exactly useful information after you've already purchased.)

TLDR; UNLESS YOU ABSOLUTELY LOVE EVERY INDIVIDUAL POSE, WEAPON & OUTFIT BPL CHESTS WILL PROBABLY LEAVE YOU SAD &/OR MAD

I really hope someone @ Stunlock sees this post & is able to see things from a customers perspective.
I won't be buying more until this is changed to either not be such a sh!tty deal or to be a transparently sh!tty deal.

I guess that most players just stuck to the official information instead of relying on the chest's content description on Twitch. SLS did publish how the BPL chests will work through their official communication channels:

Here's the relevant section (below the picture of the chests):
'Contains 3 random drops. Guarantees 1 non-duplicate Epic or Legendary Pro League item. Owning all items results in duplicate items.'

These annonuncements have also been published on Twitter and Facebook on 24th and 25th of April and the first one is available in-game from the BPL chest ad in the Collection tab. So I guess most people were informed about the 'modus operandi'.

I too find the content description on Twitch a bit misleading or misreadable but not quite to the extent you attribute to it:

'Chest containing unique Battlerite Pro League outfits, weapons and poses'.

This can be interpreted as getting an (non-duplicate, unique relates more to the uniqueness of the cosmetic style, yet still allows for misinterpretation) outfit AND a weapon AND a pose from each chest, whereas it is only a non-duplicate outfit OR a non-duplicate weapon AND a (potentially duplicate) pose.

The only way this chest could be non-random (unlike an event chest) is either by being shown a selection from which to choose the cosmetics for an individual champion or by offering all 15 items (3 for each of all 5 champions) in a single chest.

As you're not shown any selector upon buying the chest only the second option remains. But this option (all 15 items in a single chest) is also pretty unrealistic, especially by following the pattern of cash exclusive chests/packs:

- The Ashka Stormbringer Bundle contains 3 non-random cosmetic items and is sold for 10$.
- The legendary Loot Pack contains 3 non-random as well as 5 non-duplicate random cosmetics (the outfit chests) and 3500 gems and is sold for 32$.
- The Ultimate Fan Pack contains 6 non-random cosmetics (besides the xp-Bonus and the Gold chests) and is sold for 46$.

Now, would you expect to get all 5 outfits, 5 weapons and 5 poses from a single chest for 5$? Would you expect to get a champion's complete set (outfit, weapon and pose) from a 5$ chest, when the Stormbringer bundle with that exact amount of content (admittedly all legendary instead of legendary, epic, rare) is sold for 10$?

Don't get me wrong, I too think that the chest's description on Twitch can be improved and that its content should be stated more precisely. But I also think that it was possible to get informed about what is offered or to at least get suspicious enough about the content description (too good to be true) to do some further research.

Why wouldn't I buy lootboxes? lmao They're all purely cosmetic drops & (with the exception of Twitch Exclusives) are all available for gold & tokens. There's nothing inherently wrong with lootboxes. When the contents offer no competitive advantages, lootboxes are just a way to support a game you enjoy.

I've bought Ulric's Divine Strength Bundle, Jamila's Shadowblade Legacy Bundle, Zander's Magic Mayhem Bundle, Ashka's Twitch Exclusive Stormbringer Bundle & around 5,000 gems for chests from time limited events, XP boosts & champions before I got the All Champs Pack.
I don't mind spending $20 a month on something I spend over 20 hours a month playing.

That being said, if this situation with the BPL chests isn't remedied then I personally won't be buying any more as a matter of principle.

It is good to support a game you enjoy, but lootboxes are just gambling and a way to trap more of your money. You want that one skin on a champ you play? Why offer it directly when you can put it in a box with other stuff and make you buy more of those boxes unless you are really lucky. So that way instead of buying that one skin for lets say 5-10 euro, you get to buy multiple items you do not want and will not use for far more money.

They sure are, just depends on the content and if you like the game. SLS is the most fair I've seen with their "premium" loot boxes, as they usually have a none-dup stipulation.

Plus it's more about supporting the Pro League, not to scam their player base.

Well I guess some type of effort was made. It'd still be in better taste to have that in the actual product description since I doubt most people check the developer's blog before buying something.

Also, I noticed that the BUY BPL CHESTS ad on their Twitch now redirects you to the dev blog. I'm glad they added that.

I've opened 2 BPL chests. One contained a pose and 2 duplicate avatars & the other contained 1 BPL weapon, 1 BPL pose & 1 duplicate something or another. Unfortunately I didn't think to screenshot my drops but if you're supposed to get 2 BPL items then wouldn't the fine print in the dev blog or the chest info read: "Contains 3 random drops. Guarantees 2 non-duplicate Epic or Legendary Pro League item."?

I fully agree with you that the chest info should have been more accessible. And each chest should GUARANTEE a weapon or outfit so in case of your first chest that contained only a pose you got ripped off ( no outfit or weapon ), sorry to hear, that absolutely should not happen. I fully understand that you're angry about that.

You're right about that last part too, I also wondered why each chest included a BPL pose when that isn't stated in the description. It's just a pattern that emerged when opening the chests and it holds even true for the chest you opened so I brought that up with that two item thing...
