but still every game has draft in it is toxic anyway don't bring it
and ban isn't really necessary game feels balanced so far
about being MOBA or not
if u think about how MOBA used in gaming language
no its not a moba
if u think about what literal description of MOBA is
yes its MOBA but not only Battlerite also %90 of the other non-singleplayer games are MOBA as well
as an extra: game doesn't really have anything to do with LoL and DotA instead of camera view
like i said before this game mostly feels like WoW's arena pvp not LoL or DotA
No, it isn't. It's a team arena brawler.
They never said anywhere that it's a MOBA or advertised it like that. This whole nonsense is coming from MOBA players who arrived with f2p because they thought this will be a MOBA (because of top-down view or whatever) and crying that it isn't.
Sure, if we try to take the term MOBA literally then it is. But then CS:GO, SC and kind of every online pvp game is a 'MOBA'. But in the real sense of MOBA, no, it isn't, this is a different genre.
probably coming to the game once the devs feel there is enough champions available overall to justify a ban system
No it isn't. There are just a very few similarities. This a different genre, called 'team arena brawler'. SLS never said this is a MOBA either, as it isn't.
I so much know that I played DotA Allstars back then. And no, it wasn't 'heroes fighting in a mid point' at all (wtf?!). It was a custom map for an RTS game, called 'Defense of the Ancients' and it had three lanes, two bases and kind of everything what you need for a MOBA.
Btw, it was based on the earlier Aeon Strife mod for StarCraft what already had 3 lanes.
No, defo not.
'Logic':
1. Without premade teams there's no 'competition', nor tournaments. Solo queue is just a casual fun mode, never was 'competitive' anywhere. And a premade team can discuss its composition easily, there's no 'RNG comps'.
2. If there are no 'broken heroes' it's hard to play them.
3. MOBAs are just a slice of competitive gaming and the rest is doing well without borrowing these MOBA features.
'It isn't a MOBA!'
This, ad infinitum.
Man the idiocy still goes strong around here, I see.
Battlerite is as much a MOBA as Overwatch is.
Being an MOBA has nothing to do with whether or not a game needs a draft mode.
The problem with this, that opposite to MOBAs where if you're good in a role you can have a pretty decent performance with any champ in that role, as they're mechanically very simple and similar tbh, in Battlerite most champs have a very distinct playstyle with a lot of mechanical skills what you have to practice.
This, together with the thing that we don't have different ratings for champs or anything like that, leads to a situation when most of the playerbase are one trick ponies, even at high ranks. If you play more than one champ, there will be 1-2 what you're far better with than the rest anyway.
So, if we have a pick phase what you suggested, how will it turn out in practice? What if the game just match up two Raigon mains with a Croak main?
In higher ranks maybe they will try to sort out an acceptable team comp, what will lead to most of them playing champs they aren't experienced with, leading to unfair division loss against more lucky enemies.
In lower ranks it would be the good old 'I will play Raigon! You can't pick Croak you have to pick [insert champ]! Omg report noob uninstall!!'.
The only real way to have an organised team and a proper competitive environment is to play with premade teams (probably that's why there are no soloQ tournaments...).
Im pretty sure you can squeeze in Battlerite in there.
It's online its multiplayer its a battle arena > Battlerite fits just fine in the moba genre.
