Why BLC (Bloodline Champions) was bad, and Battlerite has much potential
Of course, I'd rather put that in the BLC forums, but seeing as how they're dead, I figured I'd put it here. BLC wasn't bad because of the publisher, the medallions or the traits. Rather, its huge flaws were that you couldn't tell what the hell was happening on screen due to ability indicators (AOE indicators) and some projectiles being just too much of a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ to deal with, and the fact that ults did too much damage, capable of outright killing someone after a stun. This made the game really "hit or miss", kind of like how you can get headshotted once in counter strike and it's game over. Competition was good, but that much punishment is bad for a game like BLC.

Battlerite however, fixed both of those issues, and dealt with the medallions and traits. That is why the game has so much potential, even in an unfinished state as of now. Once it goes free to play, given adequate advertisement and presentation this time, word of mouth can allow it to rival stuff like HOTS and DOTA 2 (because both are really bad in terms of competitive design).

Lol BTR doesnt have punishment mecanics sure sure.... after reading that how anyone could seriously consider you...

BLC IS BETTER right now, i'm not saying it couldnt be better they were things to balance but the game was so much better in BASE mecanics, in feeling in fun in intensity in fight, in SKILL and in thrill ohhhh lord the pleasure of playing this game.

And you know what, you want a proof that BLC was far superior and better than BTR ? Simple last patches have been made to put BTR gameplay closer to BLC's one.

And you know whats is another problem ? Its that its not enough haha.

The perfect game would have been a total miw about BLC and BTR, what they succeed that a point i can give you is that BLC was to blurry to start with and see sometime what hapen in fight especialy for newcomr.
BTR succeed in getting the game more clear and more easy to handle for new player, but in the process they simplify too much the game and low too much the skillcap.

Also BLC has better visual style with gore and darkness. They trying to do more brutal reskin in BTR now but it looks almost the same. A lot of characters looks stupid and made for lil' girls (like pearl , lucie etc.) , game should be called Ruh Kaan in Disneyland :conwayshrug:

BLC was better in every way. Its died cause it was pay to play for a year or more, and when it's became free, nobody wants to play it anymore. (look BTR)
♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, I was in closed and open Beta of BLC. It was never pay to play at this time and they started it as a free to play game as the first day of going out of beta.

Who said that BR doesn't have punishment mechanics? Capitalizing on a misplay can sometimes net you kills straight up, can't deny that. A stun hitting you from across the screen with an un-pannable camera (at least if there was a pan setting, it was well hidden) means that if someone had an ult, they use it and you're dead just there, where in BR eating an entire Shifu ult is basically just half your HP. If you think it was better, that's fine, but at least provide a valid reason as to why it is.

"Higher skillcap" isn't such a reason. Just because you had some more...damage amplifiers, and infinite freakin heals, exploitable spellblocks and such doesn't mean it took more skill to play to perfection. It was simply more complex, and more complex might mean more deep, but it doesn't mean harder. BR is supposed to be BLC 2 anyway.

You think the devs are falling for the classic "make an easy game so call of duty kids can play it and get satisfied" trap? Think again. They aren't "dumbing down BLC" with BR, they aren't that stupid. They created BLC, so it's only logical that BR is walking the same path sooner or later, and with it, the "increased skillcap" that each one of you dreams of daily.

I can agree with that. It felt that the BLC characters were more..."primal" to put it this way, and this was not a bad thing. In fact, I'd be fine with such a graphics style in BR.

You are wrong mate. Before steam game was published by Funcom on their own web site.
"The game is made available in two core versions, the entry level product is priced at $29,99* and contains 16 bloodlines (classes) with an optional $9,99* upgrade for 4 additional bloodlines – the ultimate version of the game is priced at $89,99* and includes all 20 bloodlines, as well as a lifetime VIP membership to the game and lifetime discount in the in-game store as well as much more."

Its only "on fire" because people now a days seem to revel in seeing things fail, and "die" they love to say a game is "dieing" as soon as theres less players one day than the day before. Its ♥♥♥♥♥♥ obnoxious, and its part of the cancer in the gaming community.

Bloodline has this little thing that goes straight in your heart, and somehow in the process Battlerite lost it a little. Old player will be touched cause theres a reminder but its logic that it will affect less newplayer.

Im sad about it i hope they will realy to put the game in a better place with future patch cause BLC realy deserved a new chance and i hope BTR can give it.

I was there. I played the game without paying anything.

You COULD buy these packs, but you didnt't have to to play.

CURRENTLY you HAVE to pay to play.

Big difference.
