"Sop.... Sop.... Imma little sissy... So rude world, so bad players..."
They are clearly not crying about the annoying person nor calling the general community toxic(despite you seeming to prove otherwise). Talking about this stuff is good, because not talking about it lets it fester and at best, nothing is done to improve the situation by not talking.
I have no idea how the ban/report system works, but I remember some people complaining that they were, in fact, banned. I'm fairly certain it flags the report for review by moderators/devs.
It's true that I could just mute them but that doesn't solve the problem, look at League of Legends for example, one of the most toxic communities ever, and the toxicity is really bad because you either mute them or its really difficult trying to communicate with them, this leads to a bad gameplay experience since its a team based game and you are no longer playing in team.
Same thing in Battlerite, if the toxicity levels grow then you lose teamwork, if you lose teamwork then the enemies have advantage if they play in team, simple as that.
Thanks for the info!
Its actually really stupid to compare anything to League mate. The tribunal (the ban system you are asking for) was actually controlled by the trolls you are complaining about. This is why tribunal failed hard.
As a side note, and this is me asking, could you not bring the term "toxic" which is 100% League lingo into steam? I actually find it annoying as hell when people even use that term, because its so ambiguous.
There is a huge difference in what hes complaining about, and what you are saying he is complaining about. In this case, I agree with the OP and anyone using racist remarks should be held accountable.
In this day and age (♥♥♥♥, even back when it was "acceptable") racism is absolutely pointless. Unless of course you agree with mass genocide? In which case, youd be no different from Stalin, Hitler, Khan. Choose carefully what side of history you want to be remembered on.
Basically, when someone is reported, they get added to a list. The devs will look at the list and decide who needs to be banned based on several factors (I'm assuming number of reports and/or severity of the report, but I do not know for sure). Basically, when someone is reported, Stunlock knows about it. It's been some time since I last checked on this system to be sure, but last I knew they were actively trying to improve it, among many other aspects of the game.
OP: People aren't "toxic" just because they make suggestions. If you can't stand other people's freedom, disable chat.
I wonder the same thing sometimes. LoL was one of the few reporting systems that actually let you know the outcomes of reporting players (if any action was taken).
How is the term 'toxic' ambiguous? In what other way could you think he meant it in the context in which he used it? Also, would it really make a difference if he used some other term that some other gaming community uses to get his point across?
Just curious because i've seen the word toxic used in many other places including the steam forums, and not just '100% League lingo'.
Stop being toxic.
lol touche ;)
I assume I dont have to explain what I meant by ambiguous now? Just in case, I shall.
Player A - Says to Player B "You are a jerk" Player B thinks this is Toxic.
Player B - Teamkills a player C. Player C thinks this is toxic, player A does not.
Player C - Says to Player A "You are a jerk" Player A thinks this is toxic.
Player D - Just reads and says nothing, thinks all three are toxic.
See why its ambiguous?
I see where youre going with it. But I wasn't referring to who thought who was being toxic, and how it could be confusing between the different gamers per se, but referring to his use of the term.
My question was how was his use of the term "toxic" ambiguous? Im pretty sure most of the gaming community knows what he meant when he stated "toxic players", "toxic people", "EXTREMELY toxic", and so on.
If he would have used the term "inflamatory" instead of "toxic", would that made what he said any different?
-EDIT- Let me clarify one of the statements I made. *Im pretty sure most of the gaming communtiy would know what he meant.* Its a commonly used term when describing rude behaviour.
I have seen sensitive idiots to call people toxic because they gave good advice. The word toxic is getting so misused, it completely lost all it's meaning.
