Everest won't update

Whenever I try to update Everest, it says I need the .Net 7.0 Runtime. It still gives me the same message even after installing the runtime. How could I fix this?

Is the .Net 7.0 Runtime downloaded and installed by you or by Everest?

I had an issue with updating Everest before, where every time i updated and restarted, the update hadn't actually been applied. Olympus also had an issue. (I'm on Linux.)
I think i fixed it by moving the dist folder to my home directory. The problem re-occurred relatively soon afterwards, but i never tried to fix it since.
